Apparently creator Chris Carter had a five year plan for the series and it becomes clear that from this point onwards elements of the mythology are being changed and stretched to keep things going.

    Having said all that this is still a great series of television featuring a number of memorable episodes. The writers generally opt for a lighter tone, particularly in the first half of this season, that demonstrate a great self-awareness of the shows established tropes and, most importantly, focus on the Mulder/Scully dynamic that has always been the real key to the shows success.    … Full Review »
