The Woods is a mystery/thriller mini-series based on the Halan Coben novel of the same name. The series was produced in Poland and the soundtrack is Polish. I have never watched a Polish video before The Forest.

I tried watching with theThe Woods is a mystery/thriller mini-series based on the Halan Coben novel of the same name. The series was produced in Poland and the soundtrack is Polish. I have never watched a Polish video before The Forest.

I tried watching with the English dubbed soundtrack and the voice acting was very bad. I switched back to Polish and it was significantly better. It always takes me a couple of hours to sync into the rhythm of a foreign language I am not familiar with.

The casting and acting were good. Cinematography, editing. etc were all good. The writing and the script had issues - in my opinion. Perhaps the subtitling had a lot to do with that. The subtitling was obviously done by someone not fluent in the English language and culture. Collapse… Expand

I'm sorry to say that but of all netflix coben's adaptations, the polish ones are the worst. With the french one coming right behind. Rapid cuts, close shots, upside down shots, downside up shots, inclined shots, half-face shots, trembling shots, straight into the light shots.. go make your 'art' on weddings and cow documentaries and leave the thrillers to professionals ffs. Awful music too. Couldn't make it through the first episode… Expand
