Great crime/mystery series that's entirely bingeable for those who binge. The story was great and kept me wanting to know more. The characters kept me involved. Grzegorz Damięcki have an outstanding performance.  Some of the cinematography left a little to be desired but nothing jarring. Definitely worth the watch.

The Woods is a mystery/thriller mini-series based on the Halan Coben novel of the same name. The series was produced in Poland and the soundtrack is Polish. I have never watched a Polish video before The Forest.

I tried watching with the English dubbed soundtrack and the voice acting was very bad. I switched back to Polish and it was significantly better. It always takes me a couple

I tried watching with the English dubbed soundtrack and the voice acting was very bad. I switched back to Polish and it was significantly better. It always takes me a couple of hours to sync into the rhythm of a foreign language I am not familiar with.

The casting and acting were good. Cinematography, editing. etc were all good. The writing and the script had issues - in my opinion. Perhaps the subtitling had a lot to do with that. The subtitling was obviously done by someone not fluent in the English language and culture.

By the end, the story’s rush of exposition can be dizzying, but the pieces fall into place in ways that aren’t entirely unbelievable. And the details, remixed from so many other mystery stories by Coben and others, will make sense in almost any language.

The performances of both the young and middle-aged versions of the main characters in The Woods are a good reason to keep watching. But the mystery is just complex and intriguing enough to justify watching those performances.
