No idea why this is been so negatively reviewed, I thought it was a brilliant parody of a specific type of movie. If you're familiar with the genre it's making fun of, this movie is a great and entertaining watch.

If you watching it as a comedy instead of a suspenseful mystery, it's not bad.

Good satire of the genre, plot is clever and Kristen Bell is great in the role . Right touch of tonque in cheek and parody. Many critics take themselves too seriously too admit the genre is less serious than it really is

This is an absurdist tribute to a genre; it’s not a sincere show. My heart goes out to the people who watched this without understanding what they were getting themselves into. It didn’t nail the “Lifetime parody” thing it was going for, but it was entertaining and definitely unforgettable. If you enjoyed the movie “They Came Together”, you’ll probably enjoy this. it has its moments, which last for minutes, seconds some times. But the show is just terribly bad. It doesnt have any suspense or sense. It's pure nonsensical television with a horrible plot. The ending is one of the worst endings in the history of television. What is Netflix trying to teach us here? It really doesnt have ANY good characters or any good acting.

Some of the worst writing I have ever seen, packed with inconsistencies and unlikely behavior.

The only way this could make sense is if that little girl had some kind of super powers..
Seriously who thought this was a good way to end this ? A super evil, super strong 10yr old that messed up adults one after another..
Oh god this was so bad and I want my 2.5 hours back.

Basically the epitome of bad television. Independently wealthy rich white alcoholic who lives in a mansion, struggles with her emotions and goes a bit mental. Awful writing, cliche characters and absolutely no substance. I'm a big Kristen Bell fan and thought she was amazing in The Good Place, which was a fantastic series. But she is really wasted on this terrible mess of a show.

Somehow Rear Window is almost 70 years older and still one thousand times better than this "tribute" to the genre. The writing is terrible, the pacing is terrible, most of the performances (exception of Bell) are terrible. Simply not worth your time

Kristin Bell does a great job, but this is an exhausting and failed experiment. The twists are all over the place, the show is all over the place.

This is poorly acted, poorly written and the payoff is as unbelievable as the acting. This is a complete and utter waste of time. This is worse than a LMN or Hallmark movie. So many key aspects of the main characters backstory are unrealistic even for the most creative person.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I usually read reviews before I watch anything. I wish I had this time. Someone told me that you should just watch stuff without reading reviews so you can decide for yourself. At first I thought they were doing some interesting play on the psyche but every red herring is basically a comedic gag and they waste 8 episodes to reveal some **** actor of a little kid is the killer and the woman wasn't crazy. The best that can be said about "The Woman in the House" is that it is equal in heft and worth to your average women-in-peril cable movie. But if you expect more from Bell and everyone else in the cast, its shortcomings just kill it for us.

If you want a comedy, you’ll find very few laughs here. And if you want to watch a thriller, there are plenty of better ones on the same streaming service – maybe that’s why The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is too nervous to properly twist the knife.

Overall, The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window is short enough to not be a complete time suck yet long enough for the central gag to overstay its welcome, but honestly, if you’re on Netflix looking for a series that is funny, involves murder and wine, and is also suspenseful, you would probably be better off watching or rewatching Dead to Me.
