Good fun. There's nothing that really stands out about this show, nothing is mindblowing, but nothing is bad about it either. From the writing to the acting to the cinematography, it's all solid.

The result is something that I'd recommend to just about anyone looking for light entertainment with a dash of intrigue and serious themes.

Even more beautiful people interact in funny/disturbing/erotic/vicious/loving ways. The last episode was the best writing I have seen in a long time on TV.

Literally nothing noteworthy happens. Terrible storylines that go nowhere. Characters that start out as heroes and turn into zeroes. All of them ZEROES. Not one likeable character. Even the inevitable twist in the end can't shield the lazy writing.

I loved season 1 and wondered if they could pull off another season. They did and it's really great, maybe even better than season 1!

I was definitely expecting for it to not be as good as season 1, but so far it is. I know it’s only been one episode, but that first one set the tone and the tone, acting, style and pace is great! Will revise my review after more episodes drop.

Aubrey plaza is consistent as she compells as the sexually frustrated wife alongside mcfaye whose Daphne is a complex chill. Jennifer Coolidge steals the show as the lethaly clumsy half a billionaire, her dissolving marriage and vapid rendezvous with high end gays had me on the edge of my seat. Theo James gives his best performance ever(which doesn't say much given his abysmal discography) as the narcissistic potentially indept Cameron . This is another stunning season which surprisingly tops the intelligently funny first. Definitely one of my favorites in a year of great television. Expand

Saw the first episode and fell right back into it. I really enjoyed season 1 and season 2 is shaping up very well. Seeing Michael Imperioli in the cast is a special treat for me. Loved him in Sopranos (duh), and regret not seeing him in enough things. Looking forward to his performance here. Aubrey Plaza as the uptight Millenial is pretty fun too. Loved the first episode, great performances and interesting mix of characters. Great to see Jennifer back and the interactions between Theo James and Aubrey Plaza are already filled with tension.

Excellent! Just as good as the 1st season. Jennifer is a national treasure. So interesting to see a woman like her portrayed with nuance and humanity. Mike White is a great creator.

Watching this with European and/or Asian eyes, you can't help but snicker at this facile, adolescent, populistic, nihilistic pamphlet that pretentiously imagines it provides an insightful, mordant and uncompromising portraiture of the American upper middle-class. There should be a show on TV where Japanese, British or Swedish viewers laugh at the pomposity -the weighty, the ham-fisted writing style of fat little hands- of shows like "Succession", "Billions", "The Good Fight" or "the White Lotus". A mirror of the mirror....Take another look at German expressionist paintings or Molière or even some simple Comedia dell'Arte. That's how you "crush brains" (Max Pechstein 1905); ...with levity!
    1 point for the music.

Bygone are the likable characters and light humor of season 1 as we welcome flat, unlikable characters and moody toxic undertones. It feel more like a Gillian Flynn adaptation than the charmed story telling we have come to recognized from Mike White.

White Lotus S2 is a GOAT. An improvement over S1 in every way. Threads are introduced early on in the series, maintained throughout, and payout splendidly in the end.

While this season follows in the same vein as the first, it still remains fresh, funny and intriguing due to it's clever writing and great casting.
Still one of the best shows on TV at the moment.

I loved Season 1 and loved Season 2 even more. Jennifer Coolidge is a whirlwind throughout and steals the show. Season 2 maintains the intoxicating cinematography and ever-increasing chaos, but swaps a dash of dark comedy for more dramatic tension. Mike White is as confident as ever navigating this toxic paradise, and the web of character arcs all wrap up in a satisfying conclusion. Can’tI loved Season 1 and loved Season 2 even more. Is there such thing as "love at first sight?" No. I think there's lust at first sight. Love is blind but I think it has to be because lust is blinding. On one hand, I'm not a part of the upper middle-class taking vacation at these resorts in exotic locales, on the other hand, the show deals with issues we all struggle with. While season one mostly focused on finding one's self and self worth at our current state in life, season two deals with our place in our relationships, whether with our significant other, family or friends. Less cringe-worthy than the first, this season isn't without it's uncomfortable moments. Still, an amazing watch and I definitely recommend. Expand

The second season initially feels like a mere echo of the first. ... But the first five episodes suggest that White has undergone his own unclenching. The airless sociological fatalism of Season 1, which was matched by a claustrophobic production due to covid-19 restrictions, gives way to a more mature drama, as well as a deeper exploration of how the characters’ class concerns converge with gendered angst.

In a nutshell this series is funny, but not as funny as the last one. But series one took its time to take off too. And, having watched ahead only five episodes; I don't know the denouement be assured that Mike White builds the tension exquisitely and there is much toxicity to gorge upon. ... I love Tanya. She embodies the show's essence: that being filthy rich doesn't make you happy. Indeed, it can make you wretchedly miserable. Enjoy the schadenfreude.
