Some anonymous weird letters show up in the mailbox that the family takes way too seriously. Supposedly based on a true story, but the writers spin up a ridiculous yarn of oddballs, cults, and everything short of UFOs as possible explanations. Really dumb, and just a waste of time. I feel especially sorry for Bobby Cannavale. He's better than this garbage! Expand

Don't understand all the negative reviews. Into the 4th episode now, and it's held my attention from the beginning. A good psychological thriller loosely (loosely being the operative word here) based on a true event.

The beginning was kinda promising with all the weird neighbours, which cant help being annoying for apparently (and by the end truly) no reason.
You will finish it only to get to an upsetting ending.

Too many episodes. A bit repetitive as well. Should have just made this a movie?

Unfortunately there's too many convenient coincidences and times when you're confused as to why the main characters aren't looking into a certain lead or not asking the obvious questions when they arise. If the writers ironed out some of those rough spots in the story I believe this would have been one of my favorite mini series that would have been on the same level with Harlan Coben's mystery thrillers. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. They go that many episodes deceiving you in to thinking you know who did it, and then just end without ever revealing who had done it. It's not an artistic rendition where the ambiguity works. It's just lazy and unrewarding. Expand

We all know that Ryan Murphy is a creative genious. But he may be doing way too much multitasking at the moment. Poorly written, badly acting, anti climatic ending.

Dialogue was cringy and unpolished, acting wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. Twist wasn’t really a twist and the misdirection is unrealistic and all over the place.

this series is definitely worth your time. Despite moving away from the original story, yes, it is a true crime, with each episode new extremely engaging and curious plots are added.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I do not know what these people reviewing this are talking about. The first 6 episodes are not very good. Not scary, bad writing, bad acting. The 7th and 8th episode are what the whole series should have been. I'd say the ending is worth the watch. Welcome to a show that doesn't have an ending but produces multiple scenarios for it to go. But we will never know. Expand

Loved this series, drug me into an adventure and made me believe that I was trying to solve the case with them. But the ending was terrible its the only reason its not getting a higher review. Very good acting and lots of plot twists.
