The show is quite good and wonderfully acted by the whole cast, but it goes on for two episodes too many just to end with a disappointing ending.
Don't regret watching it despite the frustration though.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The premise is good, interesting and compelling. The performances admirable. But by the 7th episode, i wanted it over and wanted to know the final outcome. The writing, twists and turns, and characters overall are lacking to the point of not caring anymore. How there is going to be another season and not finish in just one, makes me want to just look up the case and not see the actual series. Especially since in later episodes, we basically know who’s behind it anyway. Expand

Gets worse and worse by the hour. The first couple episodes are somewhat creepy, but it becomes increasingly less interested in the those genre elements and more interested in dragging out its dull whodunit plot riddled with absurd red herrings. There are elements of camp at times earlier on, but that’s perhaps too generous.

Don´t waste your time like I did. I always hoped it´s getting better but it became worse.

Just like every other show written or produced by Ryan Murphy, this show is a stupid, incomprehensible mess. Do yourself a favor and watch literally anything else than this retarded garbage.

The Watcher has its moments of suspense and fear. But overall, it does not create enough intrigue nor sense to construct a satisfying ending or storyline.

The Watcher provides the viewer with a spine chilling story with great performances and thrilling sequences that makes you want to keep watching to find out the mystery in the end. Unfortunately, there's too many convenient coincidences and times when you're confused as to why the main characters aren't looking into a certain lead or not asking the obvious questions when they arise. Unfortunately, there's too many convenient coincidences and times when you're confused as to why the main characters aren't looking into a certain lead or not asking the obvious questions when they arise. If the writers ironed out some of those rough spots in the story I believe this would have been one of my favorite mini series that would have been on the same level with Harlan Coben's mystery thrillers. Once again, another promising Ryan Murphy project, falling into the same old trap of starting strong and ending in shreds. Frankly speaking, I think Murphy should seriously consider caring less about how charming a set looks and pay more attention to the storyline, assuring that it does make an iota of sense.

It’s the first really good drama series Murphy has made since leaving Fox for Netflix in 2018. And that’s thanks in large part to a serpentine plot that lays the groundwork for an exhilaratingly inconclusive finale.

“The Watcher” may be Ryan Murphy’s best Netflix series, but the Murphy-isms wear thin.

If I rarely found myself intensely engaged, I never found myself bored, either.
