The characters went from being likeable and relatable to stereotypical to the letter. It's sad to see great black actors and comedians reduced to this in 2023. Also their mission to emasculate black men is in full force this season. Finally the story threads with the children are just dull. Feels like scripts from a Disney show fell in with the real show and just didn't follow. I'mThe characters went from being likeable and relatable to stereotypical to the letter. At least that first season was a decent watch. Expand

By the end of these eight episodes, the show demonstrates why it put the mother through the ringer, setting up an interesting arc for season four. It's just a bit of an admitted slog to get to that point. Still, although this one hits a bit heavier than earlier installments, it nevertheless manages to show how funny life is, even when it's a bummer.

It’s not the funniest sitcom out there, but there’s a lot of warmth and a lot of character-driven stories and humor.
