So I'm not one of those support the troops and support the troops while supporting the troops type of guys, but I do think those in our military deserve to be treated with respect and be given due credit for their heroic actions. This show was generally a good flashback to classic military actions movies I grew up watching. The plot is a pretty straightforward revenge story with a few twists thrown in as you go along. The action is well choreographed and the combat feels tense and authentic. Of course the protagonist pulls off some pretty impossible feats and is an all around badass, but honestly I missed characters like that. I realized watching this how long it's been since I watched a good action movie and how little of modern day entertainment is worth your time to watch.

The acting was generally pretty good Chris Pratt did a really great job in this one and I think some of the flack he's taken is by people who can't seem him in a serious role and are stuck thinking he's Star Lord or his character from Parks and Rec.

I guess some people labelled this show as right wing because its so pro-military and that's why its getting all the hate, but I could point out the show takes a pretty anti-corporate angle in parts. Some of it is it might be seen as revenge porn or pro-conspiracy and its now "harmful" to watch stuff like that. To those people I say it's far less harmful than something trying to indoctrinate me into a woke cult. I guess some people (critics) are just mad that for once a show didn't shove lame ideology down the viewer's throat.… Expand

Going in I actually thought this was another Tom Clancy show. Which it feels a lot like but the books aren’t by Tom Clancy which I am surprised to learn.

I'm a great fan of the books of Jack Carr, and when I heard about an upcoming tv show, I was really looking forward to see who was going to land the lead role. I got to say when I saw it was Chris Pratt I was a little worried, because II'm a great fan of the books of Jack Carr, and when I heard about an upcoming tv show, I was really looking forward to see who was going to land the lead role. I got to say when I saw it was Chris Pratt I was a little worried, because I didn't think he would be able to deliver the emotional depth to portray James Reece. And I couldn't have been more wrong. Chris Pratt delivers the performance of his career thus far. He easily carries the show, and is the glue that holds everything together. The flashbacks and visions are crucial moments where we feel the pain and determination of the character. It was great to see Pratt take on this role and prove that he's wasting his time on movies like Jurassic Park. The show is truly amazing and a must see. It perfectly shows the reality that the military live with. Not just how much it's sacrificed so people can enjoy and sometimes abuse the freedom they take for granted, but also the problems those same military face coming home. The PTSD and the suicide rate. This show not only salutes the men and women that give their lives for their nation, but it's also a critic to the corruption that can be found in basically almost every branch of the government. It also serves to remind people that the narrative in the news is not necessarily the truth. It shows how easily heroes are made into villains and the villains get away at being heroes, because many of those that call themselves journalists no longer do their job and search for the truth. And how seeking for the truth can many times demand everything a person has. This is a show that anyone that isn't suck on political ideologies can enjoy from beginning to end. It's correctly paced, it has the necessary dose of everything to keep the viewer fully immersed, with some twists that only those paying a lot of attention to every detail will see them coming. The Terminal List is a lesson on what people want to see and how a show is correctly made. Which given the number of shows that this year alone have fail completely to deliver, or are an utter disappointment, it's always refreshing to see that there are a few exceptions.… Expand

The underlying tragedy of special forces troops driven to breaking is well covered here, and it is no surprise that the powers seek even more insidious ways to turn men into machines. The struggle of Commander Reece is impressive, forging himself from incredible personal tragedy to a single-minded purpose of revenge and justice, using sheer willpower to overcome physical and tactical challenges with ease. Taylor Kitsch adds a much-appreciated sidekick role, quite different from his usual chaotic performances. The cast is well selected and drives the story forward. This 8 part series packs a wallop, and during tension-filled sequences I found myself laughing out loud in relief, or grimacing in anger. Pratt has demonstrated versatility, and his moments of reflection on loss are very touching. I am just amazed at the complaints from mainstream media. There is no agenda in this show, let alone a whiff of woke, and that is how it should be - a show based on the merits of fantastic storytelling and great action, regardless of gender or origin.… Expand

The sometimes dark and brutal story, it is truly male cinema worth watching. Don't know why some poorly written stories have better Metascore maybe because of a lack of "the message" but in the difference of SheHulk, this series is really good.

Fantastic show. They did a pretty good job bringing the book to the screen. Obviously books are always better, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of James Reece. I highly recommend reading the series by Jack Carr.

Cinematography and direction was astonishing. The story itself was compelling and entertaining. I couldn't stop until I finished it. The negatives: The hue palette was a little too dark for me. I prefer more vibrant colors. I know it's an artistic choice, but not my cup of tea. The story is great but it seem a little bloated. This could have been a great 3 hour film if editing would have been done good. Also, a few things took me out of the film for a moment. A Navy Commander attacking an Admiral with zero consequences is not realistic. He would end up in court martial in real life. It was a shame because small details like that could be easily avoided and they take away realism to an otherwise flawless production.… Expand

I wanted to give this show a fair shake, but I couldn't motivate myself to finish the last two episodes. I don't know how it got so much worse compared to Pratt's great performance in Zero Dark Thirty, but I'm sure Reece would have been better off in the hands of a different actor. Another big problem lies in the pacing of the show. The scenes with the most action are just haphazardly thrown in there. They don't give the viewer enough time to build up excitement. This is the main reason I couldn't finish the series. I was tired of getting jerked around in a clumsy attempt to get my blood pumping. Finally, the plot was okay, and it's the reason this gets 2/10 instead of 0. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep me hooked. I just couldn't get invested in the story in this format. I think I'll stick to the books. One last note: many of the reviewers in this page have decided to LIE about the content because they seem to think they can score political points. It's weird to politicize entertainment television. If I had to guess, I'd think they were drawn here by a Fox News segment to try and hijack the score.… Expand

This show had an interesting premise and there are definitely many entertaining scenes, but the story and dialogue felt overly long and dragged out. This easily could've been a much tighter 4 part mini-series. Reacher was a much better show if you want a solid revenge tale.… Expand

Taylor Kitsch,as always a favorite and Constance Wu are both outstanding in their respective roles as are all other cast members. Very cool series! The acting, the plot, the soundtrack, everything is at a very high level! Netflix learn how to shoot because your gray man didn't work out at all.

What a great show. Love Chris Pratt, and this show is just fantastic from start to finish. Chris Pratt was quite committed to the role, of that I have no doubt, but if this story had been sold to me as a two-hour movie, I would have had no objection.

The series is violent and entertaining enough as far as the action genre is concerned, which is its 100% focus. There is no deceit in that regard, but other than that it offers nothing of real plot value, not even in terms of criticizing the exploitative policies to which the Marines and the military in general are exposed by the government. In this case using them as guinea pigs to test drugs.

Overall, in this story you could basically intersperse the protagonist played by Pratt with Frank Castle, The Punisher and maybe it would be a little more believable, because there comes a point where the character becomes a sort of super-soldier who survives basically everything in his quest for revenge.
Logistically and financially sustainable with only his own talents gets to look ridiculous after a while.

I understand why it did well in terms of viewership, but overall it has no new attributes that would make it stand out from a lot of similar projects.

It's more than fine as entertainment for a weekend, just keep in mind that the whole thing will demand a little more than 8 hours of your time.… Expand

I read all the books before seeing this show. I was worried that it would be watered down, but this thing is gritty. Every episode looks like a movie. It would probably look great on the big screen.

Great show! Slightly different from the book but not much. Chris Pratt was good, I'm glad he can play someone other than a goofball. I had some doubts about him playing such a dark character but he was good.

But ‘critics’ and their vacuous views aside, Terminal List is a very well made show and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of action thrillers not obsessed with identity politics. The show’s paced fantastically well, with a number of unexpected twists and turns, and is shot beautifully. A special mention also to Chris Pratt, who is exceptional as the lead.
Anyone interested in a very decent binge worthy show to occupy their time could do a lot worse than The Terminal List. Such as Resident Evil, for example.… Expand

I like Pratt in Guarduans, Parks & Rec, Zero Dark Thirty. He's ok in the first Jurassic, but this and that other Amazon produced movie are stinkers. Believe the critics. The user reviews are either bot farms or Amazon paid flunkees.

This is an absolute gem. Very suspenseful with a good story enhanced by Chris pratts ability to act in different mindsets makes for a must see series. Ignore all the bias critics because this is a great show. Breath of fresh air for once!

This is what we have come to with so called "professional movie critics" on the internet. In fact, I could probably do a better job at proper reviews than these trolls.

I'm a liberal and I thoroughly enjoyed this show. ANYONE who's actually watched the show would know that there isn't any right or left-wing agendas involved in this series. Because not everything HAS to be about politics. Critics should get that through their thick skulls. In fact, the user ratings, and the Amazon Prime Video charts show how utterly out of touch with reality these "critics" are. They wouldn't know what good entertainment is even if it slapped them sideways across the face.

The show is a military-spy thriller masterpiece by Antoine Fuqua. It has tons of action, suspense, and plot twists for the viewers to enjoy. Chris Pratt does a great job in embodying the internal and external struggles of a paranoid soldier suffering from PTSD. The pacing is also good, keeping the sense of dread and tension up with very few sluggish moments. The reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because I didn't enjoy some of the lighting work. I understand the story is very dark, but did we really have to make everything look as black as possible? I had to turn my screen to maximum brightness just to make out the details of some scenes. Also, plus for Asian representation in the cast. I'm glad to see more shows feature people that look like me :)… Expand

Is this the best show ever made? Probably not. But it's a damn good one. Plot is great, cinematics and special effects are good, the writing and acting are great. This is definitely better than 90% of things out there these days.

Action parts are okay, not specially thrilling but not boring or cheap neither.

Pratt puts in a very believable performance, best yet. Nothing took me out of the show while watching it either… It was a really refreshing take on a this genre. The final twist ending was… okay… but still didn’t take anything away from this story as a whole. Would recommend… Expand

Chris pratt is also likeable as the protagonist but also at times I disliked his ruthless nature but this here had a potent message that said to me well your not supposed to understand him he is from a different world we as an audience
Will never understand and his motivations we can never truly relate to unless you suffered what he has. Critics don't always don't get it right they certainly got it wrong with last jedi and now this. Guilty pleasure watching… Expand

Don’t understand all the perfect scores. Perhaps the reviews are paid. Characters are such caricatures and Pratts acting is a poor fit for the role. I love this show! It is written by a former Navy SEAL so there's a level of authenticity that makes it much more believable and compelling. The whe thing is an action-packed thrill ride start to finish. Strongly recommend!
