    Having given up on this show after last season I have eventually ended up watching most of these season sixteen episodes at some point and it has been just as disappointing as I thought it’d be.

    At its best The Simpsons was not only the funniest show on TV but also the smartest. Those days are long gone unfortunately and The Simpsons has transformed into the type of show it used to mock    Having given up on this show after last season I have eventually ended up watching most of these season sixteen episodes at some point and it has been just as disappointing as I thought it’d be.

    At its best The Simpsons was not only the funniest show on TV but also the smartest. Those days are long gone unfortunately and The Simpsons has transformed into the type of show it used to mock with endless nonsensical celebrity cameos and repeated plot-lines now far too commonplace.

    You're lucky if you get even a couple of laughs in an episode now.    … Expand

    An improvement on season 15. However the biggest flaw this season has is the almost nonsensical outcomes of almost every episode have. Almost like they started off with a solid idea that bulit up well, then rushed to make the ending fit the time limit. A shame as allot of the episodes could have been much better with some more focus and structure.

    Overall:
    An average season, that's OK but still nowhere near as good as the earlier seasons.

    Side Note:
    Lisa was my favorite Simpson up until now, but this season really does make her into a whiny brat. Sure she was whiny before too, but most of the time it was justified. This season it's mostly whiny for the sake of whiny. What happened?    … Expand

    Seasons 16-18 are fine, But at this point, The magic is gone and it shows.
