Jul 24, 2016Oh god. So bad. It's insanely cheesy and over-dramatic, and not in a likable way. Almost every character is annoying, save for the lead girl and the script is just awful.

Jan 7, 2016No, can't go on watching this. If this is Shannara i'm Gandalf the jedi. It has nothing of the books aside some background, the elves seems taked directly from jersey shore, in the worst cases. And their king is gimli. no. nope. no.

Feb 7, 2016Can i score -10? Thats how bad it was, teenager movie with horrible acting and all polished fake sets, cheap clothing. Filled with models. Im helping humanity by writing this review, please dont watch, unless you have time to waste. Its perfect for my 12 year or niece, this is more like a Disney series

Jan 14, 2016Shallow, heartless and trite. But then what more could I have expected from MTV. I enjoyed the books enough as a kid and hoped for some easy and engaging fantasy here, but the terrible dialogue, worse acting and forced scenes were just unbearable. Definately geared for the idiot MTV youth audience. All glitter with no substance.

Feb 3, 2018Why Terry? Why???????????????? Feels like Jersey Shore meets Shannara. The only thing this series makes me want to do is go back and read the book again and hopefully forget that I ever saw this.

First rate production value, interesting characters and an intriguing story make for a world well worth escaping to.
-
Some of the romantic elements are a cheesy, and the exposition is really clunky at times, but for the most part the show is continually compelling and complex.
-
Fantasy fare like this generally has a pretty low bar to clear and a pretty forgiving target audience, but the heavy-handed jargon, pointy elf ears and brooding self-seriousness of The Shannara Chronicles might be too much for even those fans. It doesn’t help that the characters seem to be allowed to switch from talking dour fantasy-novel heroes to bored millennials whenever the mood strikes them.
