Aug 18, 2022The reviews are filled with the usual subhumans crying about anyone who doesn’t look like them appearing on their little screams. If only this site had any semblance of moderation or cared at all about what these cretins smear all over the place. Oh well.
The show itself is a 7-8 mostly out of my respect for the source material and hoping it actually hits on some of its potential down the line. -
Aug 5, 2022Great atmosphere, visuals and acting. Great cast and the protagonist do a great job on portraying an eternal proud, yet gentle-somehow emotional, being. Prolly will get some hate from those people who want and at the same time don’t want copy&paste from original material. Happy to see DC can still throw good series even if the DC movie universe keep failing.
-
Aug 6, 2022I was expecting something much worse! Sandman is a really difficult comic book to translator into a TV show. But I really get the feeling that it is done with love and care. Also good cast, nice settings, good script. Couldn’t hope for more
-
Aug 27, 2023Definitely it is one of the good series from the netflix! Solid stuff from the DC comics!!
-
Aug 9, 2022I went into this not knowing anything about it other than the creator is one of my wife's favorite authors. The first season was captivating and enjoyable, and I can't wait for the next season.

Aug 5, 2022Whether you are a fan of the comics or not, you will weep for a gargoyle.
What more do you need to know? -
Aug 23, 2022This title has been plagued by the anti "woke" and others pretending they know the story better than the author.
Disgraceful trolls ll.
Keep your mind and heart open and you will find this adventure an absolute delight. -

El show no es perfecto, pero quede fascinado por su historia, espero ver una segunda temporada. -
Aug 7, 2022A must watch a very good serie and if you blame anything then the problem is you
-
Aug 9, 2022Seems hilarious to me people review bombing because it’s “woke” like these people never read past the first trade!! So they changed the cast around to fit modern times… The point is the story is nearly a 1/1 of the comic. Like get over yourselves. Bunch of wimpy crybabies. Show was fantastic. Just superb.

Aug 6, 2022I don't know if I'll live long enough for anything to move me as Gaiman's Sandman has? Perhaps I won't. This will have to sustain me for the length of my days but I am confident it will. The power. The magic. The splendor. Everything about it transcends our little world and makes us somehow a part of the Universe of the Endless.

Aug 7, 2022A great adaptation of the comic book masterpiece. The best series I've watched this year.
-
Aug 8, 2022Ambiance, action, histoire, costume lieu tout est envoûtant : serie parfaite pour moi
-
Aug 17, 2022A fantastic adaptation, which masterfully kept the magic of the original comics. It's sad to see negative comments generated by sheer ignorance and prejudice.

Aug 6, 2022I read the comics and as a reader I feel the adaptation was pretty solid. It was amazing most of the time with a few missteps here and there. The best thing is: most of us, fans, feared the series would suck, it does not and that is huge. Such a rich source material deserved a proper adaptation and Netflix delivered it.

Aug 8, 2022Amazing adaptation of one of the best comic series of all time. Stuck to the comics much more than I thought they would be able to and I loved every minute! Bravo!
-
Sep 28, 2022Excellent adaptation of the original material. Acting was surprisingly a bit shaky at times, but they managed to skilfully remain true to the fantastic original whilst bringing their own twists.
-
Aug 9, 2022Great adaption of the source material, I thoroughly enjoyed this and hope there will be a second season.
-
Aug 5, 2022really entertaining if youre open to these kinds of shows. haters are gonna hate it just has that vibe but if you liked the witcher youll def like this. Honestly this is probably netflix's best release of the year

Aug 9, 2022It's simply great, but i give it an 9 because the series can be a little bit confusing for viewers who have not read the comics or are not familiar with the mythology such as myself, otherwise it is simply great.
-
Aug 19, 2022I haven't read the comics, but I will now. The series does jump around from story to story (some episodes are more back-to-back than others), and the stories are beautiful. I loved the imagery and the characters were fantastic.

Sep 9, 2022Excellent comic, excellent show. They change details, but the story and the important things hasn't change
-
Sep 1, 2022Really liked this show. The beginning and middle episodes are the strongest. Hope it gets a season 2.

Aug 8, 2022For those on here complaining about changes to the source material, race and gender swapping etc…Neil Gaiman wrote the series with Goyer. Your complaints are ludicrous to the point of idiocy and actually suspect. Despite the series imperfections and issues (the last 4 episodes are substantially weaker than those previous imo), I’m so glad we saw this realized.

Sep 23, 2022A different kind of tv show. A alternate world where gods exist and powerful immortal beings have to deal with common human problems like loneliness, love, and self improvement.
-
Aug 8, 2022I had a lot of concerns about this adaptation. Although it has the dreary Netflix style, the first two episodes have been good overall. The story is surprising in some ways, deviating a little from the original one but still being interesting. Hope the rest of the season follows this approach.
-
Aug 5, 2022Very exciting for fans of the comics, it's a dream to see this materialised as a big budget show. However, too much green-screens and cgi and adaptation decisions that reminds you frequently this is a "Netflix" production.
-
Aug 8, 2022I had a great time with the first 6 episodes, but episodes 7 through 10 were absolutely awful, cringey, and boring. Do yourself a favor and stop watching after episode 6 and hope that the next season is similar to the first half of this one, otherwise it won't be worth a watch.

Aug 9, 2022I'm really enjoying it. Dream is perfectly cast. Is it a shot for shot recreation of the graphic novel, but it's very engaging. The only criticism I have is the main arc. I enjoyed the tangents far more than the main story, which was about Rose Walker (who was kind of obnoxious tbh).
-
Aug 14, 2022It started marvelous and 2 series were great, especially the battle between Morpheus and Lucifer, but the last three series were super degradable and boring. And yep, too much LGBT.

Aug 29, 2022I'm gay, and I think this show has too many gay characters. And besides that, it's kind of a mess. Some of it is great, much of it ridiculous, and all of it disjointed. It felt like they couldn't decide on what to do ahead of time.
+1 for the cat story though. -
Aug 7, 2022
-
Aug 15, 2022Lavishly mounted production with uneven storytelling. The forced diversity feels contrived on large, tho Death is great (episode 6 is excellent) and Jenna Coleman captures the Constantine character on film better than any other so far. Unfortunately the last 4 episodes are terrible, like an insipid YA story, and a struggle to get through. What a shame.
-
Aug 23, 2022Typical Neil Gaiman production; convoluted, interesting, captivating, boring at times and refreshing at others, high production value, variety of characters, good fantasy, wandering plot, good and bad acting. You get the picture. That being said, I'd rate this "it could be your cup of tea so give it a try."

Aug 25, 2022It started out great and peaked at ep6. From 7 to 10 it began to check a lot of uninteresting boxes, acting went down and I just stopped caring where the story went. The "boss fight" at the end is ridiculously boring... Rose Walker's storyline just seemed pointless compared to everyone else's. .

Aug 21, 2022Gorgeous CGI, captivating setting, mostly uninteresting stories with unrelatable characters. Fails to involve the audience.
-
Aug 6, 2022Start was promising and Morpheus was portrayed properly but the aimless meandering and subpar acting by side characters make it hard to get through. They needed to cast better actors that can pull you into Fantasy. Joanna Constantine remains unexplored and feels childish most of the time.
Dialogue is average at best and clunky at worst. Nothing that is said stands out. -

Aug 10, 2022Good show if not for the Netflix virtue signaling. What would have been a 9 loses points for being ridiculously over the top with agenda that has nothing to do with the story.

Aug 8, 2022Saying this is a woke show is a understatement.
Every one that´s important is gay bi trans or colored.
White people are evil except Sandman. There´s some episods that´s okej some are **** -
Aug 9, 2022Again a great Idea and potential for a great TV show... Ruined with genderbending... Raceswap and unnecessary diversity....its meh at best

Aug 5, 2022Show started with promise but quickly just felt like an episode of doctor who with gore effects enabled. 24/7 was the only truly interesting episode of the season, and it had the least screen time of Dream - speaks volumes.
-
Aug 19, 2022I wanted to enjoy this show, but the woke propaganda is too much to handle. Literally everyone is gay. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when it's done in such a pandering manor I can't watch. God damn shame, could've been great.
-
Aug 29, 2022had some great parts then it became unwatcheble with everyone being different ethnicity and gay (literally). and no dont play the racist/homophobic card. these things just simply break immersion.

Aug 6, 2022Could be an awesome series - but they decided to DEI it to death. What's so wrong about sticking to source material these days? Whatever happened to honoring the authors vision?

Aug 21, 2022It would be a good show that would also look passable.
No, it’s not. You have to sprinkle the woke stuff again and mismanage characters from the comic to do justice to a small group.
That’s when the white old professor turns into a black lesbian woman.
Why Netflix? Stop this ****
Just stick to the template of the comic book, and it’s all right. -
Aug 15, 2022In the end it´s a very lame story and very lame acting. But I enjoyed seeing Stephen Fry again. And one remark: using a distorted picture the whole time is no artistic style, it´s just annoying.
-
Aug 20, 2022They made DCs John Constantine a woman, gay, and gave her an interracial relationship to boot. Anyone saying it's faithful to the comics has never read the comics, and the writing is motivated by woke politics. Wanted to enjoy this but it is impossible.
-
Aug 11, 2022Why can't Netflix just stick to the source material? They could have had a superb show but completely ruined it! Another problem that I really couldn't get over is the fact that they had to make it "woke". The characters were clearly described and Netflix simply ignored that to appease the "woke" crowd. I think it's time for Netflix to wake up and realize why they're losing so many subscribers.

Aug 11, 2022Like the worst of series, The Sandman draws you in in the first couple of episodes, then draws out characters in a tedious and lengthy manner before evolving into a children's TV series. By the eighth episode I was skipping through each episode for any sign of improvement. Sadly there was none!

Aug 22, 2022Where do I begin! Phony, fake, irredeemable, stupid, woke - I guess these are the adjectives I would use. AND I don't think anyone is surprised. I'll just keep writing off this unoriginal crap low until this dumb woke bs concludes and we get the original version of the story that people actually want to see.

Aug 16, 2022garbage. how far iq has dropped in a mere 20 years. between the capecrap/cape**** and garbage like this its sad to see this could even qualify as 'entertainment'

At its best, the show is strong fantasy entertainment that functions as a great introduction to Gaiman’s writing. But the barrier to entry is high, and the cost of jumping into such an intricate saga might be too much for some.
-
While not our cup of tea, we definitely see how appealing The Sandman would be to fans of Gaiman and his work. We’re just not sure it’s particularly accessible to those of us who are new to the story.
-
“The Sandman” stands out visually. A parade of fine actors — Joely Richardson, Charles Dance, Stephen Fry — weave in and out, with David Thewlis particularly strong as an escaped mental patient. Still, the show remains comic-book thin on character and plot conveniences are everywhere. “The Sandman” dreams of being more than it is, but it’s still pretty good.
