Once upon a time I used to very much enjoy Neil Gaiman and his work, that is before he compromised his own artistic vision and creativity, bending over backwards in order to fit today's officially approved discourse and narrative.
Whatever the reason (insert here), the results haven't been pretty. Case in point "Sandman".

Another great series ruined with sjw garbage. How about we go back to staying true to the source material and selecting the cast based on acting ability instead of tryin to fill quotas.

While ok, I have four major problems with it: 1. Dream is poorly represented. He is supposed to be the all powerful centre of the dreaming. But in this series he is more like an administrator. Where is the imagery of him blending with the environment?. Why doesnt the dreaming bend around him? In this he is a bit pathetic.

    2. Characters have been changed for political correctness. Please! Grow up. If you are going to produce any novel or story for TV or film then have the balls to represent the original as it was written.

    3. The visuals are too "nice". Most of the depictions of the dreaming look more like disneyland than anything else. Where is the grittiness, terror, and wonder that can be found in dreams? The visuals were mostly bland pap.

    4. The Corinthian was a bit meek. Especially his eyes which should have been far more terrifying.

All in all I'm fairly disappointed in this series. But, as usual, anyone who hasnt read the originals will probably find it ok which is a pity as the original story was good enough to be truely inspiring.

too much toxic agenda, can you shoot a version for developed countries without this medieval "golden billion" agitation?

Imagine a museum full of timeless art and a mob of people come in and splash red paint all over everything and say that it is an improvement

Too many issues with this show to write a detailed review. Storytelling is all over the place, dialogue is wooden, direction is uninspired, and the show as a whole doesn't hold the audience's interest. It is a shame really, this was on the "Hope It's Good List".

At its best, the show is strong fantasy entertainment that functions as a great introduction to Gaiman’s writing. But the barrier to entry is high, and the cost of jumping into such an intricate saga might be too much for some.

While not our cup of tea, we definitely see how appealing The Sandman would be to fans of Gaiman and his work. We’re just not sure it’s particularly accessible to those of us who are new to the story.

“The Sandman” stands out visually. A parade of fine actors — Joely Richardson, Charles Dance, Stephen Fry — weave in and out, with David Thewlis particularly strong as an escaped mental patient. Still, the show remains comic-book thin on character and plot conveniences are everywhere. “The Sandman” dreams of being more than it is, but it’s still pretty good.
