Uneven directing causes a lot of implausible plotlines that undermine the very important and serious message this show is trying to get across. When this show really shines is with the human interactions between the characters; in particular between Tia and Jira (Emayatzy Corinealdi and Aliyah Royale). I would certainly recommend watching this show but be prepared for an uneven and jumbled mess of cliches, stereotypes and a few genuinely moving moments. I think that the limited series format hurts this show because it doesn't allow many of the characters to get fully developed. Expand
