This show is fun. Great combo with Blacklist and very enjoyable.

TV is too serious lately and this is what TV entertainment needs.
    Watch and enjoy.

    The Player keeps getting better.
While I was hesitant I would stick with the series after the premier, I have been pleasantly surprised. I understand some people find the premise of the show ridiculous; however, given that this is fiction I can live with the rules of the "game". With the exception of Kane, the other characters were somewhat flat and uninteresting in the first episode,

With the exception of Kane, the other characters were somewhat flat and uninteresting in the first episode, subsequent episodes have dropped hints about their back story that so far make me want to learn more about them. The fact each episode has an objective as well as builds into an overall story arc has me tuning in each week. The episodes are unique, unpredictable, and possess a blend of action, humor, and mystery that make watching television fun again.

Best action scenes on network tv! It's a motorcycle/gunfight/adrenaline rush. Wesley Snipes plays the simulatneously cool and hilarious mentor/villain

Favourite show ever. It's so dynamic and great! Every new episode is better than previous and there are a lot sof twists waiting for you. Amazing soundtrack, story and acting. Fight sequences with Snipes are unforgetable so as actor's job here. I can't get enough of it, you can love AAA shows like Breaking Bad or True Detective but you can't miss gems like this.

I was dubious of this show before it came out. It seemed like a stretch of a concept and the trailers didn't do it any favors. But I was pleasantly surprised with the pilot presentation. The characters and set up worked, the performances were good and I liked the pacing of the story. I think there's potential here and, to this point, it's the best of the fall pilots I've seen.

I like Wesley Snipes and would like nothing better than to see him succeed on a big hit network TV show but I can't get past the premise which is so monumentally stupid that it ruins whatever comes after. Sorry Wes, I'll catch your next vehicle.

By chance I got aware of the first result of the series and what wanted to see Snipes has as a series actor on this so.
I haven't regretted it. The series has good characters and much offers action. The whole story starts to was I too strangely thought this also at "Breaking Bad", however.
I would still become first consequence clearly express a recommendation to it and wait whether you

@ BogKid: Is this you idea of a review? Writing 20 times the same sentence? I mean, seriously. If you dont have to say more than that, than dont write a review!

Felt compelled to write a review for this show since it unfairly has gotten bad reviews. The concept is weak, but the acting, action and overall vibe is great. I have seen a bunch of the new fall shows, and this is probably my favorite. Two episodes in, and the action rivals some movies. Fun show, highly recommended.

This series is action-packed and Philip Winchester as Alex Kane is excellent. That being said, the premise for this series is so far-fetched and bizarre, I have trouble getting past it. The pit boss, played by Wesley Snipes and his assistant (Charity Wakefield) are standard stereotypes and not terribly likable. I'll keep trying because I enjoy Philip Winchester's work, but I'm not sure ifThis series is action-packed and Philip Winchester as Alex Kane is excellent. With high velocity action sequences (the best of any new show), believable, yet quirky characters, The Player is the Freshman show You Should Make Time for this Fall season.

Alex Kane is played masterfully by Philip Winchester, who knows exactly what being an Anti-Hero is like and doesn't want to go there again. Mr. Johnson (Wesley Snipes) is our mission broker and Shadowrun reference.

Two overarching meta-plots regarding the "Probably" not-dead Wife and investigation into the "House" itself drive curiosity. Ante up an hour of your time and you will not be disappointed.

The Critics are just that Critics with drastically ridiculous opinions. This show is great! The first commercials didn't do it justice at all. With the ability to use feeds from surveillance cameras to help track criminals Kane really has to use some less techy abilities to stop them before it's too late. Love the action packed show and how it has just a little of the things that people seem to be so much into (drama, romance, etc..) I enjoy seeing him almost lose and go NOOO when he gets hurt. There are so many unanswered questions at times though. Like will he find his wife? What is Mr. Johnson (Wesley Snipes) hiding about Ginny? Will Kane outsmart the House? etc.. All in all it's a fun show to watch and good to see Wesley Snipes back in action!!! Expand

The Player is one of the BEST tv shows airing right now!

    Please SAVE the show!!!

Every time I get into liking a new show it gets canceled! If they do go ahead and cancel it then I may just stop watching television altogether! This is the first time I have ever watched anything on NBC.

I must say, I was hesitant to jump on the bandwagon for this show, but ended up binge watching the first six episodes. I think the acting is, let's say, a bit futuristic (or is it the dialogue writing). But the plot and sub plots galore coupled with the action makes this one of my all time favorites. I am saddened to see only nine episodes and feel like NBC has left us hanging wanting more.

Bring back The Player, this show should have never been on the chopping block. This is a great show. You let critics, who are in fact human dictate what should be shown. Go with the users, users are critics and I'm saying bring this show back immediately. Again, this is a great show with incredible action and a good story line.

For its combination of silliness revved up to a furious pace, The Player is, as I said at the start, watchable--the kind of visual junk food that you find yourself consuming for an hour before you realize 60 minutes have passed.

The action sequences are cool. Unbelievable, but cool. Fast forward through the rest of this drivel and just watch those, if you must.

Everything on the screen has been played out, ad nauseam, in other series--we’ve seen dozens of brooding-hero-with-a-dead-wife narratives and omniscient-organization-secretly-saving-the-world backdrops in the past few years alone, but it’s entirely possible that none of those other shows have left as bland a taste in the mouth as this one.
