May 7, 2022Austin Powers films are also rated in the 50's on Metacritic. You either love that type of humor or hate it. I happen to find it genius and critics apparently don't. Oh well, I guess they don't laugh as often.

May 7, 2022It's a bit all over the place in style and humour, and it's like Mike Myers threw a bunch of ideas at the wall to see what would stick, but that's not uncharacteristic. Suffice to say if you're really missing some Austin Powers style humour it's worth a watch.

May 6, 2022this show is funny and genius! mike is amazing! im starting to think all the low scores and bad reviews are part of a conspiracy to stop ppl from watching and finding out the truth. Some ppl prob wont get it at first so you may have to watch it a few times but man oh man this is hilarious af! reminds me of austin powers jokes, miss the good ol days

May 8, 2022I found it to be quite comcial and love the return of Mike Myers. Critics seem to hate it because made fun of Davlos and elitist.

Jul 3, 2022Consistently hilarious! A much better satire of the greed and politics dooming the planet than Don't Look Up. Mike Myers is back in his element and doing comedy worthy of his '90s hits. Longtime fans will love this! It's missing a strong antagonist and urgent mission up-front, as well as a young, sexy hero, so I get why people don't like it. But people suck.

Jun 5, 2022Silly with a few surprisingly funny gags and a couple poignant bits. Feels like they could have cut some stuff and make it a tighter and better 4 episode series but then, Myers never seems to want to always use every bit possible.

The Pentaverate could have been good, but that would have required restraint and revision, neither of which are on display in a show that is simultaneously overindulgent and toothless.
-
Sometimes the comedy of The Pentaverate lives up to those ambitious visuals, often with structural or meta jokes, like the silly Irons intros, or a running gag that is, hands down, the finest comedy work of Maria Menounos’ career. ... The Pentaverate is more wistful than scatalogical when it comes to its satire, though.
-
A tiresome compendium of half-formed characters, weak social commentary and so many groan-worthy penis and poop jokes that it’s difficult to believe the headliner was once Hollywood’s top funnyman. ... You’ve got a slog that, no matter its brief runtime, wildly overstays its welcome.
