    Dark, suspenseful and chilling with a strong cast and an incredibly atmospheric soundscape, the 'every man for himself' brutality of the times is recreated here with such splendour, with the first episode setting up a premise that will be sure to keep you gripped.

    Dark, brutal and gripping. This tale of survival really comes into it's own in the last few episodes where every man fights for themself in a harsh and unforgiving environment.

    If it slightly runs out of steam towards the end, The North Water is mostly gripping, exquisitely made, cinematic TV, consolidating writer-director Andrew Haigh as a major talent.
