But, I'm turned off by all the smooth pat dialogue delivered in a condescending tone. All the characters are portrayed as "fighting the good fight" with unquestionable moral integrity. They all share a solid moral compass which guides their every move. When they do make a mistake, they instantaneously recover and move to an even higher moral level. As a morality play it fits the bill, but I would rather see realistic grayness in decisions, actions and opinions. Expand

This show is about the journalists that haven't sold their soul to Fox News and it's hysterical screed that the1% of population they represent matters to anybody else.

Outstanding writing. The story lines are well organized and present varied views on interesting and important topics. Kudos to the cast for handling the snappy dialog so effectively. But, if Mr. Sorkin's intent was to raise the level of awareness and insight some healthy dialog on critical public issues, then I conclude he has achieved his goal with me.

You have to pay attention to every minute of this show or you will miss a piece of dialog that is very pointed and key to the remainder of the shows plot.

I am extremely dismayed that the show will end after 3 seasons and that the third season will only consist of six episodes. I great loss for people seeking a higher level of entertainment then the majority of mindless crap that is aired every week across 500 plus channels of expensive fiber and cable.

The Newsroom is the best series that I have seen on TV for years. The scripts are insightful, the acting superb, and the characters believable. The last episode opened up a whole new world of possibilities, and it is too bad that these could not be fully explored. The Newsroom introduced me to Emily Mortimer, a real beauty and a superb actress. One reviewer called her "our English rose," and he/she was spot on. I look forward to seeing Emily again in movies and other HBO series. Thanks to HBO for being willing to confront so many controversial issues in such a forthright way. Expand

The Newsroom's greatest season by far, as the characters we come to know, love, and understand begin the rest of their lives and the series reaches a predictable, though satisfying, conclusion.

Quite possibly one of the greatest shows ever made. This is an entertaining look at a group of the closest thing reality allows to superheroes. The characters are believable, while also being inspiring. It was a wild ride through an emotionally charged alternate history where a group of people decided that Americans should be informed.

The Newsroom returns for a truncated six-episode final season, it appears that less may be more--as in, more absorbing and more entertaining, with less irritation from slapstick rom-com subplots that tend to make smart people (especially the women) look insultingly stupid.

With the end in sight, this is a faster paced, more focused, less annoying Newsroom than in the first two seasons.
