Season 1 Review:
Each of the opening three episodes conclude with their own little grace notes, neat bows on a new development that, again, in a multitude of other contexts would come across as treacly. By fully embracing the strengths of the show and its franchise predecessors, “Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” has already earned those moments with breakaway speed.

Season 1 Review:
By subverting its source material’s premise and keeping Bombay in the mix but not at its center, “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” makes sharp, timely updates to the timeless story of “good guy” underdogs who just want to have some fun, but aren’t about to complain if they can stick it to the “bad guys” with a win or two. That spirit, more than the team’s logo or legacy, is the real Ducks way.

Season 1 Review:
Clearly, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers wasn't eager to change much of anything about a proven and familiar formula. Yet in terms of crafting an entertaining, cheerfully lightweight show around this latest quack attack, the producers have largely achieved their goal.

Season 1 Review:
[Cobra Kai] subverted the source material and delivered a moving meditation on growing older. Game Changers, by contrast, is all about reinforcing the Disney message about being the best version of yourself. ... Estevez is agreeably cantankerous as a grumpy old (ish) man hauled onto the ice once more and against his better judgement. Mighty Ducks viewers may well empathise with his reluctance as they, too, are dragged back to a franchise that perhaps isn’t all it’s quacked up to be.

Season 1 Review:
This series isn’t much of a game changer, no[r] does it engender any promise that it will try to [in] future episodes. Instead it seems ready to give viewers more and updated “Mighty Ducks” action; the nostalgia here is not in building, but passing on the brand's family-friendly sports comedy to a new generation. “Game Changers” just shrugs that if the Mighty Ducks’ strategy worked for three movies, it’ll simply work here.

Season 1 Review:
Graham is charming as always even with thin material, and it’s not hard to see that Game Changers is just slow-playing Gordon’s emergence, in the same way that Cobra Kai treated Daniel LaRusso as a minor character when it began. These early episodes are pleasant if a bit dull.
