this show used to have better writing, and a good ratio of message to comedy. now it's too much message and too little funny. shame... not really any good sitcoms these days.

There’re a lot icon times in this season. Every character is doing what they should do. They focus on their career and i love that!

Absolutely tanked a number of characters and storylines from a series that I loved before. This show is an abomination in its fourth season.

Unsurprisingly still marvelous. Brosnahan has never been better in this role.

The performances are still strong, but Midge's closing set in episode 1 is more like a 2022 Netflix comedy special with all of the f-bombs lacing her routine. This seems anachronistic for stand-up comedy of 60 years ago. Even Lenny Bruce's legal struggles back in the day were as much about content/subject matter than it was four-letter words. The witty banter flies fast and furious, reaching a hilarious apex in the premiere. [28 Feb - 13 Mar 2022, p.7]

That’s the thrust of the fourth season – people making bold moves. After two years of life without the Maisels it’s a welcome change.

After setting the show and the character forth on a pretty thrilling trajectory for the first three seasons, this new one is a complete reset. As in, Midge Maisel is in exactly the same situation she was when we first met her: single, desperate, and obstinately pursuing a career in comedy even though she can’t land a gig or respect.
