I cant imagine anyone else being able to pull off this character to such a degree. With a small smirk or an eye roll we know exactly what Lizzie is thinking-- kill, kill, kill. Props to Clea Duvall as Lizzie's long suffering sister. Will anyone in Fall River survive the season? All I know is if I saw Lizzie coming, I would run screaming in the other direction. Favorite quote thus far: Mr Flowers: "Are you Lizzie Borden the ax murderer?" Lizzie: "I prefer former Sunday School teacher." Expand

I haven't seen the movies, nor have I heard this story too many times, so learning about Lizzie Borden (true or not) is quite enjoyable through this series. Christina Ricci plays a sociopath so well and there is plenty of action in every episode.

Christina Ricci plays the part of Lizzie Borden excellently. The mini series, is awesome. Although some may think that the show may seem to portray Lizzie as a person that kills all the time to get what she wants, lets face it, she may have been acquitted of the murders of her father and stepmother, but many people believe she did do it. I love the mini series because of the drama, the anticipation, the well thought out sets in time, and most of all, Lizzie. I could care less if the facts are correct or incorrect. It is intriguing to see what will happen next. I hope the mini series goes on for a while. Expand

Christina Ricci is always amazing..she makes an excellent Lizzie Borden. She plays her so well that even though she's totally evil you still want to root for her.I only wish it was going to be on longer.

I was really looking forward to this mini-series. Imagine my disappointment after 3 episodes when it dawned on me that it was really just an excuse for the murder-of-the-week. There's enough gore in the real world. I really don't need to subject myself to more.

This eight-part series on Lifetime purports to tell the story of Lizzie Borden after she had been acquitted of the murders of her father and her step-mother. Apparently, as this show tells it, Lizzie turned into a serial killer, solving all of life's little problems with a pitchfork, or a hangman's noose, or simply a solid whack to an adversary's head. This show is really trash.

Some of the production values of the show seem fairly expensive, apparently leaving no money left over for script. Christina Ricci seems at least to try to make her weird character somewhat realistic. Most of the rest of the cast perform as if they had flown in for the day, phoned in their lines, collected their checks, and grabbed the red-eye home. It appears that the director had one direction -- "Keep it stiff and stilted, guys."

    This series is simply terrible!

An eight-episode miniseries sequel that, based on the two installments sent out for review, is content to be unexceptional trash.... What good there is in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles comes exclusively from Ricci and DuVall, who have a delectable rapport not too far removed from Bette Davis and Joan Crawford at their hag-horror peak in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles doesn’t quite know what to do with its own self-awareness, but the same can’t be said of its producer-star, who has a winningly evil twinkle in her eye whenever she encounters another problem she can kill her way through.

Sumptuous costuming and a believable period setting aren’t enough to make up for weak storylines that intend to make more of killer Lizzie than she actually was.
