There are 3 seasons total and this was the correct decision, the show simply said what it needed to, wrapped up character development for everyone we care about, and it ends with no answers.. why? It doesn't matter. The point of the show is that there is no point and that perfectly mirrors our own existence in this world. WE make our destiny and our purpose, not the other way around. Things happen, families fall apart, but we keep fighting hoping for a better life. The events of October 14th 2011 don't matter, what matters is that they moved forward and created their own purpose and happiness from what happened and maybe just maybe the The Sudden Departure, was the best thing to ever happen to this family. Any doubts aren't allowed here anymore. This final season is vindication for the accomplishment HBO is in curating weird left field television risks into runs that top decades and years of silver screen. You will be breathless, you will be confused, you will cry and definitely start from the beginning for the same result every time.

"The leftovers" is one of the best and the most underappreciated shows in the last decade of television. It's a mixture of faith and reason. Every difficult to understand event in the show is filled with that dichotomy. The series shows variety of human behaviour and attitude towards inexplicable phenomenon. What people are capable of doing to cope with their grief and how do they make sense of the world that has changed so rapidly and irreversibly. It's a dark, brutal, bleak, fantastic, visionary mysterious, emotional, depressing, mystical, funny, crazy, liberatory and sublime show. It will drag you through the dirt and then lift you up in the sky. The cast is phenomenal and their acting is mind-blowing (it's almost disgusting that actors from that show were notoriously ommited by the Emmys). I'm pretty sure that Max Richter's music in the show can move anyone to tears. I cried like a baby on so many scenes. The show moved me and will stay with me forever as one of the best shows I have ever watched.

The Leftovers third, and final, season doesn't quite land with the same impact as season two but this is a strong finish to one of the most interesting TV shows I've watched in a while and makes for a more than satisfying conclusion.

What an amazing way to end an incredible series (which ended too soon). This season should have definitely been no less than 10 episodes, that being said, the 8 HBO gave them made each and every moment a gift. If you're asking where did the "departed go" you're missing the point of this superior work of human emotion, loss, grief and the beautifully strange story being told. Must watch.

While not answering every single question, The Leftovers does the almost-impossible: it delivers closure. And yes, we don’t get to know ”how”, but we do find out ”what”. Lindelof finally achieves redemption for the awfulness of “Lost”s final season - not since “Six Feet Under”s finale have I felt this content at the ending of a show.

You encounter all sorts of overrated movies, tv shows or music these days. The praise for Leftovers season 3 is nothing but well-deserved. Leftovers is the strangest and most immersive experience you will find on tv and its underlying themes pierce the very fundamental psychological issues of mankind. Every second of this series is pure art.

Absolutely outstanding television. This show is a hidden gem, and some of HBO's best work. Every single season, episode, and shot is a masterpiece in film making. Season 3 ties up everything very nicely, and even surpasses the last two seasons. This show is a work of art and a brilliant reflection of humanity. Do not miss this show.

The first season was good, the second was very good, and the third season was excelent, just excelent. The series final season is brilliant, it will leave you breathless most of the times. This season was not nominated for this year Emmy´s, and i´m sure they will regret that, because this is a masterpiece, and it will be still be a masterpiece in the years to come.

This season should be the prototype for entire series. After very serious, confused and often irritating first season plus half of season 2, this show begun to shine. But it was too late for it. The third season is great, little holes here and there, but the love story is great. As for the plot, it gives a beautiful insight into the human mind and how an unexplicable mass trauma destroys contemporary nihilism.

I wouldn't say this show helped me find God. But it shows with perfection why some people need to find him.

Such a beautiful show/season. Season 1 was a joke, Season 2 a beauty to behold, and Season 3 was just perfection in 8 hours. One of the best finales I have ever watched (I guess Damon Lindelof learnt his lesson from the very horrible Lost finale). Kudos to the makers/cast of this show. Sad to see it end.

Some of the best acting, directing and ephemeral atmosphere on television. There's so much to say about every episode of The Leftovers, much less to say about the first six episodes of a new season collectively, but the easiest thing to say is that it's not too late to tune in and be awed and confused.
