This is a review of season 1 to season 7 episode 1.

This is show is easy watching, great for leaving on in the background. The jokes are repetitive, the football aspect has gotten to the point of unnecessary athlete cameos, the plot is pointless. It's unscripted, and you can definitely tell. This show has the same idea as "It's always sunny in philadelphia", which Sunny is its better in

It's unscripted, and you can definitely tell. This show has the same idea as "It's always sunny in philadelphia", which Sunny is its better in every single way. It has its funny moments, it's not a terrible show, but as far as crass comedies go, this relies on shock value alone, without much to back it up. In a world where these kind of shows were rare, it'd be much better, but I've watched it through the years and season 7's first episode just confirmed to me that I'm done with this show.

After watching 7 seasons of this show, I'm left wishing I'd spent all that time watching something else. The show is unintelligent and crass. I'm all for immature comedy, with It's Always Sunny being one of my favourite sitcoms of all time, but this show is designed for people with a maturity level to match those who draw penises in each other's copybooks in school. I'm all for immature comedy, with It's Always Sunny being one of my favourite sitcoms of all time, but this show is designed for people with a maturity level to match those who draw penises in each other's copybooks in school. The comedy rarely has any more thought or intelligence behind it than that. The characters are all uninteresting and weak, with the exception of Nick Kroll's 'Ruxin' and the very hit-or-miss 'Andre' played by Paul Scheer. Jon Lajoie's character 'Taco' also offers the occasional humorous plot gimmick. The show offered an interesting premise at first, but the novelty of the idea soon wore out, and the lacklustre writing and improv comedy were exposed thereafter.

None the less, once I start a show I try my best to follow it to completion. I have failed to do so with many shows in the past, so I guess I have to at least give it credit for keeping it's tenuous grip on me 'til the end. Every season there was at least one episode that I did thoroughly enjoy, and that was enough to keep me going. That is also the reason I scored The League higher than I might have expected.

My advice: If you've exhausted all other options when it comes to tv sitcoms, this might be worth the watch. You wouldn't be missing anything by passing it up. If you haven't, there are far better sitcoms out there. I recommend It's Always Sunny for immature comedy done intelligently, or Community for intelligent comedy done intelligently. Finally if you have you're eye on this programme because you're a fan of American Football or Fantasy Football Leagues, I wouldn't bother. No amount of celebrity cameos can justify putting yourself through this. Here's hoping Parks and Rec can set me back on the right track.

After seven seasons, the cast makes a tight team capable of bouncing between insults and absurdist physical humor with ease. The League is pure fun, nothing more.

All this [bathroom jokes] serves a fan base, which is fine. It’s just too bad that a lot of viewers who would appreciate the sports humor will pass on the uber-raunch.

The shock bar is set pretty high, but Season 7 proves up to the task, if subtly. For the new football season, the league switches from a snake draft to an auction draft.
