It was smart of them to restrain themselves for the first two episodes. Not surprised, the games themselves were incredibly subversive, shalom, it simply wasnt as obvious for regular person to notice.

I loved the game. One of best games ever.
Show however…. First episode was great I was hyped to see next… but then it started to be mega boring. I am not giving 0 as I like characters, and main actors are doing good job. What is missing: theI loved the game. One of best games ever.

Yes, it's true. I don't like seeing two guys kissing. But yes, it's also true that the show started with a lot of promise, and then gave us an unnecessarily boring episode 3 that had no relevance to the game or the storyline. Also, i can't stand Bella Ramsey... I don't know who she is supposed to be playing but is not Ellie, Pedro Pascal make me believe he is Joel from episode 1, but Bella obviously never play the game, Ellie was not anMore woke garbage.

I was excited to watch the series, but ultimately disappointed in the direction they took.

Ellie is extremely rude and independent to the point when she does not follow any orders, including Joels. Does she teach a good lesson? She is just annoying troubled kid. Nobody teaches her manners. None of characters are good and interesting role models. Also there is no character development, despite a lot of factors. Characters behave the same except maybe Joel turning into cry-baby.
I think some "modern audiences" will love this show because of fact it is so woke but no one really enjoys.
Additionally 3rd episode is a gay romance. Everyone loves that. Right?
To conclude: Rating 3 is only for visuals and atmosphere from original game. Anything else is a trash. I stopped in the middle of 7th episode. Don't waste your time if it is valuable for you.… Expand

Terrible show, no action, no infected and only two good episodes, they made Joel a soft sorry excuse of a man and ellie an annoying Brad diferent from the adorable goofball from the game.

Ну что глянули сие творение , игра однозначно лучше передает все переживание героев , смерть Сары в игре я рыдал каждый раз как дохожу до этой сцены (а вот игра Нико Паркер напомнила сцену из Маски), + фильма: раскрывают больше событий, обозревают прологи и истории , что было за кадром в игре. Обалдительный визуал и внимание к деталям ( но Паскалю нужно было все таки броду отрастить). Великолепный звук и музыка. Как всегда хромает каст (на любителя). Сценарий ( зачем нужно было переделывать все?): вопрос как заразилась бабушка ? если зараженные живут не более суток ? как они не смогли увидеть укус? почему укушенные тут же встают? а бабушка 2 суток просидела как? как перевернулся пикап ? в игре от машины, а в фильме? Что за б***ь за аккумуляторы и нафига их придумали? Почему и как погибли Плеяды? В игре Элли и Глава Плеяд были как подруги и доверяли друг другу, тут их дружба и доверять родилась от фразы я же не разрешила тебя убить. Вот они реально верят, что просидев девчонка на цепи неделю будет доверять им через 5 минут после их снятия ... прям ужас кто писал сценарий. Какая же Тесс была крутая в игре .. ее местные боялись и уважали, она вела темные делишки и была везде как рыба в воде, а тут (что за сраные договорняки), Почему она в фильме прикрывается Джоэлом? и так во всем. Сериал достойный на твердую 8 после 1 серии . Везде оценка на мой взгляд завышена..И да Рамзи плохо с играла РОЛЬ Элли из Игры. Элли была наивным ребенком в сложном мире, а Рамзи играет жесткого без эмоционального ребенка .. и видено как получается конфуз .. возможно мне мешает восприятие игры. The Last of Us tricks you in the first episode as something that will have story quality, consistency, and smarts. But as you move from one episode to the other, you start to realize what kind of a show you really have on your hands.

Joel although played by Pedro Pascal who I don't like at all as an actor, he's been doing the best of what he's allowed to do. You won't get the Joel of the first TLOU game, but the one from the second game. This Joel although a former soldier, he handles guns with the skill of someone that just watched people using guns on TV.

This Joel lets Ellie boss him around and even control how every conversation goes. First game Joel was a hardened man that had closed his heart to feelings, and wasn't about doing reckless dumb things. Although flawed Ellie needed him, and eventually she learns from him and he learns from her.

That's what made The Last of Us special. It was the story that made the first game special.

Ellie is just insufferable. Who thought that Bella Ramsey had the acting skills to be Ellie, really missed the mark by miles. Ellie is arrogant, emotionless, reckless to the point she completely ignores Joel solid and wise advices, and she acts as if she doesn't really needs Joel.

Nico Parker that played Sarah should've been Ellie. Seeing Parker at least showed great father daughter chemistry with Pascal, and they seemed to click better in the kind of relationship that Joel and Ellie need to develop.

Visually its clear that they spared no expenses to show that world as it should he showed. But that's about the only good thing the show really has.

The second game was a disaster of a story and character development, and this show is obviously following that path.

This show will never be what The Walking Dead was. So if you're waiting for that to happen, save yourself a lot of time and move on to another show.

Okay as yet another zombie apocalypse, dissapointing addition to Last of Us franchise. Pros- Decent acting. Cons- Nothing special to seperate it from other numerous tv and movies of the zombie genre. Compared to the game it gets the story from- unnecessary race and age swap of Sarah; the latter reason diminished the emotion you got from the game version. -it misses the tension that you got with the spores and mask from the game. -while the acting is fine in itself, the main actors just feels off for their characters.

At the end I was wondering if I had watched the same show that has been given plenty of perfect scores of 10/10 and 100/100...to paraphrase Seinfeld...I dont even know what it takes to get a perfect 100/100 score, I think all you need is a popular IP and moving pictures.....that seems to be their big qualifications....no blank moving pictures.… Expand

I am going to start with the most obvious which is the fact that I think the romance between Bill and Frank was unrealistic. It starts off with Bill finding Frank in a hole, and letting him stay in his house. However, despite Bill being lonely, the decision to let some random stranger into his home when Bill is a seasoned paranoid survivalist still seemed unrealistic to me. Even if we give this scene the benefit of the doubt, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Bill then decides to have dinner with Frank, which to me was actually not that bad of a scene, and it was enjoyable seeing Bill loosen up a little bit, a rare part of the episode that actually wants to dedicate time to character building, and getting to see a side of Bill that we wouldn't first expect from him, but still feels natural for the most part. But what sucks is that all of this character building was done for nothing because Frank, a complete stranger to Bill, makes out with him only after a few minutes of talking. I would have liked it more if we saw the relationship build overtime, with Frank failing at his attempts to win over Bill's trust, but slowing developing a stronger relationship with him, and contributing to Bill becoming more optimistic, and also slowly hinting that he had feelings for him. It would have been a more enjoyable arc to see than just a random person you just met becoming your gay lover in the span of 5 minutes. Now I am not one of the people who agree that this is "Agenda", because I think that's bull **** But another big problem I do have with this episode that I think is really important is the fact that it just was not relevant by any means to tell the story of Joel and Ellie. What was the point of this episode? No really? Is this The Last of Us or a gay movie? Because a gay movie is what this episode felt like. It just wasn't important to tell these characters life story to help out with the plot. The whole episode just felt like a rushed romantic movie. The fact is that they could have just have showed some of their life, and then just skip to the part where Joel and Ellie got to their hide out and found them dead, and continued our main story with Ellie getting to the fireflies. That's how simple it could have been. But instead, this episode wastes our time with characters that didn't have any significant impact to the story in the slightest, and can easily be forgotten next episode which makes me angry because they could have done something with these characters. My last point is the pacing. This episode compared to the other two was mildly boring. I just don't think a lot happened that was as noteworthy as the start of the pandemic, or Tess and Joel fighting through infected. I truly wish that the writers learn from this, not because I hate the show, but because I like it and I think it has potential to improve so they don't make any of the future episodes as disappointing as this one.… Expand

I used to be a big fan of the video game. It was a good mix of adventure, on the road feeling, a desolate future, and human nature. The same reason why the Walking dead in it's prime was excelent - it was never about the zombies, infected orI used to be a big fan of the video game. The same reason why the Walking dead in it's prime was excelent - it was never about the zombies, infected or whatever made our species near extinct, but rather the stories of people - what would you do when the logic of our world changes.

Last of us, the film, started out superbly. But the feeling I really enjoyed in the game really evaporated as it went on.

So maybe my review is affected greatly by this nostalgia I was looking for.
Anyway, here are my observations.

The good:
- atmosphere
- the looks
- Joel's character

The bad:
- The filler stories (ep 3 & 7)
- Elli's character - it's okay if she looks different than the game Ellie. But her character is something else too. She's an angry foulspeaking teenager now, with a psychopatic streak in her personality. It started out bad, but getting a bit better. - The - flow - You have atmospheric episodes, then action, a cliffhanger, then you get an episode that gives nothing to the story. Like many said the flashbacks consume a lot of the show's time for little benefit. It's nice to see character buildup but it can be done with less time. It breaks the flow of the show completely.
- how you treat your audience - when you receive criticism, you blame your audience. Have you ever for once considered, that not everyone is a homophobic trash who did not like episode 3 and 7? Yes, I understand the two what have in common is lgbt romance. Also, aside that, they are also common in their style of storytelling: out of the flow episodes which add little to the whole. The game handled this issue very subtly, because that was not the point of the story.… Expand

It's nearly impossible to watch without harkening back to its predecessor. Great cinematography and set design make for a visually compelling experience. However, there are several aspects that I did not agree with. First of all, the casting. Pedro Pascal looks the part, but his character is a shell of the video game Joel. No charisma or intensity. Bella Ramsey is not a bad actress. Her effort in bringing Ellie to life is obvious. However, I believe she failed at this, though. Her cadence when delivering lines doesn't hold a candle to Ashley Johnson. Furthermore, the TV show is poorly paced (should have been 2 seasons), ignores the Bill/Ellie potential, miscast Melanie Lynskey, and just doesn't have much action. Its a snoozefest with most of the great dialogue either poorly delivered or just flat out missing from the TV show.… Expand

I'm surprised it took ND and his clan 2 episodes to get down to pure activism with no point whatsoever. A whole episode deviating completely from the story line and the game for this. This 10/10 is a joke. While Joel might be more or less ok, Ellie is a total fail. And the cgi-programming to integrate the figures in the scene is partly so bad that you have to laugh unwillingly. I dont even dare buying the remake of TLOU on PS5 either. Pretty sure he crammed in some gay fisting scenes in there all together with a pride parade. Screw this s**t

Episode 1-2 are the best episodes of the show and truly deliver a remarkable adaptation to the games and lore, explaining the background of the virus, horrific infected moments, tho its a bit of a let down because there are barely any of infected in those episodes and heck there arent ANY infected after the first 2 episodes in the entire show thats all about a post apocalypse with a zombie like virus on the loose! Besides seeing the original cast here and there and watching pedro and bella play a fantastic role and truly are the heart and brains of the show, everything else is just off, even the sam and henry parts are a massive let down. Overall i can rant about this show all day, but as a fan of the franchise who even loved part 2 i can’t recommend the tv show adaptation, halo did it better imo. And im not interested to see how they destroy part 2 which would require a lot of love that the writers dont have.… Expand

The first episode made me think they could make this interesting. But now after watching the second episode, it is evident that this is not going to work. The original bit at the beginning of episode 2 was very well done but the rest of the episode was completely bland. It felt like unimportant filler. You just don't feel the tension, the dread you felt while playing the game. Several times during the episode I found myself asking, what is the point of this scene? Am I watching a video game or a TV show?. The answer was, neither. This is neither a proper TV show nor gameplay. This is just padding. Boring, uninteresting padding.

The actress for Ellie is already awful. Neither does she have the looks nor the acting skills but on top of that even Pedro Pascal fails to bring Joel to life. His acting is limp and dull. His dialogue delivery is completely flat as if he is reading his lines for the first time and they are going with that take.

It’s a shame they used what would have been a great tv show as a platform for activism and to be edgy. In episode 8 the producers were proud that Joel didn’t make it to the restaurant to kill the enemy. I’m Chinese and I’m sick of the identity politics. This is why I give it a 2 to lower the rating. People need to lash out against the wokism in entertainment that is being used to push an agenda. As a gay dude, when I saw the Don't Tread On Me Flag, I thought, okay, now we've got a character that's going to subvert stereotypes and really bring things home as a badass. Instead, we got a joke of an episode that was plodding melodrama a la one of those daytime drama shows that women of a certain age are into. Nothing against their tastes, but this is the last kind of thing I expected from this previously great series, and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth, like I was being swindled, again. E3 - didn't like it, didn't watch it. E4 boring and stale. The story is thin. I mean really thin. Hell even season 3 of TWD was better and it seemed it dragged on for eternity. Episode 5 - good episode. Some boring parts, but seemed to pickup a bit. Episode 6 - Decent enough episode. Quite a few cringe moments that have nothing to do with the story and every thing to do with the Hollyweird's politics. Bit turn off Episode 7 - preview makes me think I'll skip it. The actors/ Characters are not skilled enough to carry the show alone. I mean does anyone feel Joel is Rick or even a John Snow type? He is in the game.. the girl is very unlikable. You couldn't do worst unless you recasted her as Fran Dresher - that might even be an upgrade. To all the review stating this is the best show ever, I have to question their honesty. The show looks good, if you mute out, and glance at it occasionally. The work as a whole, is only slightly better than a CW show.… Expand

The Last of Us is about a young girl and her guardian trying to survive in a world infested by zombie-like monsters and bad people while traveling to complete a mission.

You wanna make a series about gay love, by all means you have my blessings. You wanna distort a great game story by making a whole episode about gay love, which has nothing to do with the story, you have my low score.… Expand

There are absolutely no homosexual moments in the game. Why, what right do you have to actually force people to watch such openly homosexual scenes? All people have different views, different religions, and if someone is interested in certain content, there are plenty of ways to choose the right movie. But the game is absolutely not about that. Why are you doing this? To observe international values, to promote propaganda here, to receive a TV award? You have no right to do this! For many people with different views, such homosexual content is simply not acceptable! If you even wanted to come up with additional plot branches with homosexuals, you could do it less openly, why should I watch it? We could just leave behind the scenes explicit scenes and show a hint that this couple is homosexual, lives together and that's it! You are violating people's rights! Try to understand how people with other religions and life values of the present family feel. Imagine if you were forced to watch, for example, a whole series of how animals are tortured, would you like it? For some people, what you have shown causes similar feelings. Shame!… Expand

However, in the third episode, everything changed. The show introduced a new storyline that was completely at odds with the tone and feel of the first two episodes. It was a jarring shift that felt out of place and disconnected from the rest of the show. The characters that you had come to love were suddenly behaving in ways that made no sense, and the plot took a turn for the worse. The previously high-quality writing was replaced with poorly executed plot twists and forced drama, ruining the entire experience of the show.

You found yourself disappointed and frustrated as the show that you had once loved became unrecognizable. The once captivating world became dull and uninteresting, and you found yourself counting down the minutes until the episode was over. It was a disappointing turn of events, and you couldn't help but feel let down by the show. It was a prime example of how a bad storyline can completely ruin an otherwise excellent show. I will rate it 0 just because of episode 3. I liked the first two episodes but am done now. Another series goes to the bin.

Yet another series where they just don't allow a story to get in the way of a narrative. After episode 3 I'm done with this series.

As a viewer, I was extremely disappointed by the movie The Last of Us. From the lackluster special effects to the boring storyline, I found that the show failed to deliver on many levels. The zombie apocalypse genre is one of my favorites, and I have high expectations for any show within this genre. Unfortunately, The Last of Us just didn't live up to those expectations.

The acting was also subpar, which added to my disappointment. I was expecting to be on the edge of my seat, but instead, I found myself checking my watch, counting down the minutes until the Show was over. Overall, I would not recommend The Last of Us to anyone looking for a thrilling zombie apocalypse show experience.… Expand

After only 2 episodes this show nose dived quicker than my 401k stock account. It Lures you in with what you like then bait and switches you into some woke social engineering crap. I made it to episode 6 before dropping it. As it stands this show is a poor imitation of the video game, the voice actors of the original last of us did a MUCH better job with the characters then the actors for this show. Pedro Pascal looksI made it to episode 6 before dropping it. As it stands this show is a poor imitation of the video game, the voice actors of the original last of us did a MUCH better job with the characters then the actors for this show. Pedro Pascal looks the part as Joel but asking a hispanic man to do a texas accent was never going to be good. Bella Ramsey as Ellie sucks, they try to feed her lines from the game but she has no confidence in her delivery so it just sounds stilted and bad. Some of the action scenes are just dumb, in the sniper part a random hole just appears and infected pour out like its **** gears of war. I also wasn't a fan of the entire episode dedicated to Bills relationship, I get it, they are gay, the game didn't dedicate an entire level to it and yet this show wants to treat it as his defining character trait. Also race swapping Joel's daughter and Tommy's wife is just weird, one character I could understand but the entire cast? Come on.… Expand
