Until then it was OK, maybe even good. Then, they basically abandoned the original story in the 3rd episode, and made the whole episode about gay love. It would be OK if the original story was about gay love like in Brokeback Mountain, but it is not. The Last of Us is about a young girl and her guardian trying to survive in a world infested by zombie-like monsters and bad people while traveling to complete a mission.

You wanna make a series about gay love, by all means you have my blessings. You wanna distort a great game story by making a whole episode about gay love, which has nothing to do with the story, you have my low score.… Expand

a big let down if you compare to the masterpiece such as the original. bella ramsey tried to carry this series and she almost came close but with pedro pascal's lackluster acting it failed to deliver.

I loved Last of Us 1, but Last of Us 2 was very interesting to play and not in a positive way. I was seriously enjoying the story about Joel's death and Ellie trying to avenge his death, and Ellie's romance on the side. It could have been oneI loved Last of Us 1, but Last of Us 2 was very interesting to play and not in a positive way. I was seriously enjoying the story about Joel's death and Ellie trying to avenge his death, and Ellie's romance on the side. It could have been one of the best games ever. Unfortunately, towards the end, I was forced to play as Abby. I really liked Joel as a character, and when Abby killed him, I, of course, developed a serious dislike for Abby. Furthermore, Abby is just a pissed-off, unlikable character in general. Thus, I really didn't want to play as Abby and found myself just letting zombies kill me because I wanted to return to playing as Ellie, and it was more enjoyable to watch her die than to try to help her survive. I tried to play it out as Abby, hoping it would return to Ellie at any moment, but hours went by, and it still made me play as Abby until eventually I just said, "Screw it. I'm not enjoying this game at all, and I stopped playing altogether. I've played almost every rpg there is, and there is only one other game I have stopped playing halfway through. Thus, Last of Us 2 is one of the only games I rate as a 0 out of 10 since it was so unenjoyable that I didn't even finish it. The lesson here is NEVER FORCE THE PLAYER TO PLAY AS AN UNLIKABLE ANTAGONSIST, PLEASE. After, being so disappointed with Part 2, I don't recommend either of these games.… Expand

I have finished the game like 9 times and Bill's town was one of the most important points for Ellie's an Joel's character development. this is prolly the worst thing HBO has ever made. THE CAST! THE **** CAST!!! No actor fits their character. Pedro Pascal is a good actor, but a terrible Joel. I don't even wanna talk about the rest.

I was excited to watch the series, but ultimately disappointed in the direction they took.

I have to say this storyline didn't work at all in a tv miniseries. It might have worked in a videogame because you get to shoot at things. It is probably good dramatic content for a game, but in a mini series that pretends to be realistic, it got too many plot holes that just downright didn't work and you lose the urgency and emotional bond with it. Other than that, the violence in it was just pointless and unnecessary, it served no purpose other than just to shock the audience. To me the series didn't live up to the hype and it made me even want to play the game even less now.… Expand

Sauf lorsqu’on y met beaucoup de travail d’adaptation… mais c’est pas demain la veille qu’on aura un bon jeu en bonne série ou en bon film, à mon avis. En tout cas, quel ratage intégral dans les grandes largeurs, cette série (de merde) ! c »est de la daube de A à Z, partout, tout le temps, dans tous les compartiments…

Alors surtout, si vous avez joué, aimé The Last of Us, le jeu, ne regardez… surtout pas cette nullité nulle à chier ! si l’acteur principal qui incarne Joel est ok, celle qui joue (très mal) Ellie, est une catastrophe : un laideron sorti d’on ne sait où alors qu’Ellie est si jolie dans le jeu, intelligente, charismatique et volontaire : un personnage si dense et formidable ! et dans la série, on se retrouve avec une fille affreuse et sans aucun talent : ça fait mal de la regarder… tenter de jouer Ellie !

De toute façon, tout le reste de la distribution est à la masse, de même que bien des changements apportés à l’histoire, laquelle est devenue une connerie sans queue ni tête… Une connerie volontiers wokiste qui se traîne par ailleurs comme une tortue dans le coma. Tout sonne faux ici, tout est tellement bâclé, c’est un cauchemar de crasse nullité à tous les étages ! une horreur de nullité totale, une sous-merde effroyable ! c’est vraiment pas regardable, fuyez, pauvres fous !… Expand

Episode 1-2 are the best episodes of the show and truly deliver a remarkable adaptation to the games and lore, explaining the background of the virus, horrific infected moments, tho its a bit of a let down because there are barely any of infected in those episodes and heck there arent ANY infected after the first 2 episodes in the entire show thats all about a post apocalypse with a zombie like virus on the loose! Besides seeing the original cast here and there and watching pedro and bella play a fantastic role and truly are the heart and brains of the show, everything else is just off, even the sam and henry parts are a massive let down. Overall i can rant about this show all day, but as a fan of the franchise who even loved part 2 i can’t recommend the tv show adaptation, halo did it better imo. And im not interested to see how they destroy part 2 which would require a lot of love that the writers dont have.… Expand

On the game he opens for the first time and tells to Ellie that thanks to her, he is now better with himself, he is starting to live the life, no matter what you always find something to fight for, like the ultimate lesson she, a little girl, had taught to him, a tough man. On the series this wonderful moment is destroyed by changing one word and the whole meaning, its pedro telling ramsey a lesson, another one, like she has to learn still how world works and she would find something to keep going. My gosh, its terrible, lacks every emption and meaning of the games last discourse, the implications are absent, the characters value gone. Absolute terrible.… Expand

The main issue is that it isnt respectful to the important things of the game. BUT the entire point of the game is adulterated, the characters are nothing like the game, their persoality, their morals, their spirits are totally changed. Their relation is secondary with no importance at all, in fact it has little screentime, it has no development through the episodes, every other thing has the spotlight of the episodes, quite the opposite of the games spirit. So the whole outcome of the story has no sense, it arrive to the same end as the game but with no path walked, it feels forced. Very bad work from HBO.… Expand

Don't waste your time with this series. There's only enough story for about 6 episodes. There's 2 whole episodes, 3 & 7, which are complete misses. Non-linear storytelling that is out of place. It's nearly impossible to watch without harkening back to its predecessor. Great cinematography and set design make for a visually compelling experience. However, there are several aspects that I did not agree with. First of all, the casting. Pedro Pascal looks the part, but his character is a shell of the video game Joel. No charisma or intensity. Bella Ramsey is not a bad actress. Her effort in bringing Ellie to life is obvious. However, I believe she failed at this, though. Her cadence when delivering lines doesn't hold a candle to Ashley Johnson. Furthermore, the TV show is poorly paced (should have been 2 seasons), ignores the Bill/Ellie potential, miscast Melanie Lynskey, and just doesn't have much action. Its a snoozefest with most of the great dialogue either poorly delivered or just flat out missing from the TV show.… Expand

Everyone knows what's going on around the episode 3. People say it's bad writing just because Bill and Frank are gay. Funny enough, they were gay in the game too. Writing in the episode 3 was amazing. Sadly mfs are too fragile to get that.

Episode 9 hasn't aired yet. I'm giving this 0 despite thinking it's a solid 6 to lower the average. Mfs give this 10/10 without thinking so why not me? Show just nosedived. Or actually. It didn't. It stayed the same. Week after week Ellie and Joel do **** without meaningul bonding, just going forward on their journey. I'm not going too deep into this. But the show has had good episodes but in the big picture has failed to capture the story. I know what's happening in ep9. And I think it's too early for that. Realistically Joel wouldn't save Ellie. They aren't that close eventhough the show says so. Editing tomorrow.… Expand

The show's not winning the comparison with the game, and it's hard not to compare. The casting, the way the characters act and speak, their and the story changes. It’s a shame they used what would have been a great tv show as a platform for activism and to be edgy. In episode 8 the producers were proud that Joel didn’t make it to the restaurant to kill the enemy. In episode 8 the producers were proud that Joel didn’t make it to the restaurant to kill the enemy. They were proud Ellie was able to kill him by herself. They really complete the circle of wokism here: diversity hires, white people are bad/problematic, religious people are cultist/evil, black people always seem to have a justified/good intent, gay focus in nearly 2 episodes, Ellie’s actor is non binary, Joel is stretched to Latino descent actor and he’s portrayed as more weak/angry. I’m Chinese and I’m sick of the identity politics. This is why I give it a 2 to lower the rating. People need to lash out against the wokism in entertainment that is being used to push an agenda. Entertainment should be based on the merits of the story.… Expand

Good start but a lot of over acting and incredibly pointless dialogue. It’s sad that I’m not looking forward to the final episode. I really wanted to like this show too

Started out promising, but they could have left all the woke crap aside..
This is apocalypse doomsday in the telling, and there should be zero crap containing LGBTQ agenda and woke justice..

Druckmann seriously got his balls cut off and destroyed the good story that was TLOU1. Did Anita Sarkesian write you a letter this time around too?
I dont even dare buying the remake of TLOU on PS5 either. Pretty sure he crammed in some gay fisting scenes in there all together with a pride parade. Screw this s**t

Ellie is extremely rude and independent to the point when she does not follow any orders, including Joels. Does she teach a good lesson? She is just annoying troubled kid. Nobody teaches her manners. She is just annoying troubled kid. Nobody teaches her manners. Joel is sentimental and simply does whatever others tell him to do so, even Ellie. He is shown soft in dialogues. None of characters are good and interesting role models. Also there is no character development, despite a lot of factors. Characters behave the same except maybe Joel turning into cry-baby.
I think some "modern audiences" will love this show because of fact it is so woke but no one really enjoys.
Additionally 3rd episode is a gay romance. Everyone loves that. Right?
To conclude: Rating 3 is only for visuals and atmosphere from original game. Anything else is a trash. I stopped in the middle of 7th episode. Don't waste your time if it is valuable for you.… Expand
