I didn't enjoy this series as it attempted to shoehorn contemporary ideas about race and feminism into a narrative where they did not belong as if the concerns of that era were the same as ours when they demonstrably were not. I wonder did later episodes tackle gay marriage and transgender issues? I didn't manage to stick it out.

Others have gushed about the score, those jarring electronic moments that continuously break any sense of immersion. I think the mark of good music in a series like this would be to heighten emotional tones rather than telegraphing edginess at every opportunity.

The acting is a bit insipid too. I could only handle two painful episodes. I feel sorry for the people who made this cause they obviously put their hearts and souls into it.… Expand
