Yes, maintaining friendships gets harder as we grow older, but strictly as a viewing proposition, they shouldn’t be this annoying.

It’s a big improvement from Season 1 and is on its way to establishing itself as a contemporary “Friends,” only with better scenery.

Fey’s house style is famously joke-dense, but the series doesn’t succumb to the temptation to rush through uncomfortable conversations to get to the next one-liner, and it’s both richer and more deeply funny because of the time it takes.
