I am beyond stunned this show got such a high rating. There is not ONE original or thought provoking element to this show at all. Even the writers must think so b/c they plugged in the character of felicity whom I love to give the show some life and she came across all "like me, like me Berry!"

The season is off to a great start so far, the special effects are really good for a TV show. I also love how very comic booky the show is and i can't wait for them to dive deeper into the DC universe.

I have been looking for this show for a while now and the first episode was awesome i see a good future for the flash and would love to see a crossover episode between arrow and the flash where both of their cases intersect each others.

Is it perfext? No, but tust me its a greeta show any fan of superheroes will love it. For years, we have never had a good superhero. Arrow and Flash have permanentl changed that.

I liked the 2 episodes, but I hope the next be better. Could be better if the introducion were more slow. Everthing happened very very fast. This fumbled so much.

I'm either a 0 or a 10 kind of critic. Will I watch it again, or not? And yes, I really enjoyed The Flash. I'm confident that I will continue to enjoy it.

The spinoff of The CW's Arrow finds Central City forensic assistant Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) with superhuman speed after being struck by a bolt of lightning during an accident at a particle accelerator. With the help of three scientists at Harrison Wells' S.T.A.R. Lab, he helps the citizens of Central City as he seeks answers to his mother's murder.

Director David Nutter has a cinema-TV superhero resume longer than my arm. His expertise is evident in the crafting of segments. As in the Old X-files, each 10 minute segment has an unusual internal integrity of mood while remaining integrated with segments fore and aft. I appreciate David's wonderful craft here and in many other aspects.

I was hoping for something like the 2014 Marvel superhero movies, more upbeat, less Dark Knight, so this worked for me. The Metacritic review summary is very educational about the writerly challenges this show is taking on with a "goody two shoes" hero. I say, "Go for it" and keep the Captain America movies as your guiding light.

Based purely on the pilot - there is a lot to like about this latest comic book adaptation.

The one thing I don't like is their "SMALLVILLE Meteor Storm-esque" origin for superpowers in the Flash/Arrow universe. I blame it on that one network suit in every meeting that says something stupid like "won't it confuse the viewers if we don't explain everything right away?"

    Dear Network Suits,

We are not stupid and enjoy not understanding stuff. In fact, it's one of the reasons we tune in to shows that offer healthy helpings of weird.

Absolute **** I don't know how anyone could like a show with such god-awful dialogue and cliched storytelling. Also, why do so many characters spill their life story within a few minutes of being introduced? It leaves no mystery whatsoever, and makes the show boring to watch. 2/10

All in all, the show is, honestly, rife with cliches that borrow heavily from other superhero-oriented shows. The main character's life is rife with easily mined personal tragedy, the woman he's clearly in love with is oblivious to this and the only one who doesn't know his superhero identity, and the slightly too charismatic scientist predictably has confusing secret motivations that may or may not be sinister. That said, Barry Allen is a likable guy that most people would probably find agreeable in real life. He finds the right balance between believably awkward and slightly too adorable, yet manages to almost convincingly punch up the drama when required. I have no arguments with the casting and each actor seems to believably portray their slightly cliched characters convincingly. It's engaging enough to hold my interest and I can see it getting better as the actors settle in to their personas. Expand

i think the show could have been good, and can still be,but the pilot gave too much that you would probably expect from earlier episodes. Also, how does he sometimes go slow mo and sometimes just go fast. You don't fall when you walk normal so why would you fall in slow mo.And how does he know green arrow, that never gets explained.over all it can be good, but the pilot is not very great andi think the show could have been good, and can still be,but the pilot gave too much that you would probably expect from earlier episodes. Also, how does he sometimes go slow mo and sometimes just go fast. You don't fall when you walk normal so why would you fall in slow mo.And how does he know green arrow, that never gets explained.over all it can be good, but the pilot is not very great and over all confusing. He doesn't seem that freaked out about super speed either.oh, hey, i can run fast, yaaahh!!!!!!!!!any way, has potiential, but the pilot isn't living up to it. I was looking forward to this series but it was plainly obvious in the first 5 minutes just how dumbed down this series was. The first thing that popped into my mind was "Vampire Diaries", the realistic world where everyone is young & stunningly perfect.

Completely dumbed down for the masses who gleefully sit and watch this trash as they clap their hands together. I have better things to do with my time & my life than watch this series....like cleaning my belly button out.

Overall, I thought the pilot was bland at best. It suffered from one-note acting (the villain and the male scientist sidekick were especially annoying), contrived and pandering humor (a twerking joke? really?), dodgy special effects, and cringe-worthy dialog ("Run Barry, run!"). Grant Gustin brings charm to the show, but the guy looks like he barely graduated high school, so I have a hardOverall, I thought the pilot was bland at best. With that said, Arrow also started pretty weak, but got consistently better as it went on, so it might be the same case for The Flash (they share the same creators after all), but I'm not getting my hopes too high.

The Flash sports a great cast, visually well-designed sets and effects, and the pace and atmosphere reflect the deft hands of directors and crew. But a superhero show can’t live on those elements alone.

First, the series is completely on point with what the network is doing elsewhere (Arrow, etc.). Second, it's actually very well done. And third, it's wholly entertaining.
