Wow this show really took the wrong direction; its now very silly space battles where only one sides guns and missiles work. The new worlds stories are childish, no really its children doing the science.

Only six episodes in the final season and this is dragging after two. There is a lot of talking about feelings though, so if you want drama not SciFi, then this season is for you.

Sadly this has become one of those shows that started out great then detreated every season.
The producers chose to drag out the story, making cliché story decisions for an obvious want to milk as many seasons as possible at the cost of a solid story.
Where the enemy is relatedly in the grasp of those who seek to kill them, but due to lazy story choices like "save one person" the enemy

So now the show is a husk of the engaging story you used to enjoy.

Jesus, how to ruin a beautiful series with some crappy story and paint special effects. Don't watch if you liked previous seasons. The final episode is just embarassing, I was covering my face...

I love sci-fi and fantasy. But this show doesn't seem to know where it's going and where it was. The visuals are great and the actors aren't bad but following the story is like reading about quantum physics (i.e. when you think you see something it's really different than you thought).

Boring. Seasons 1 to 3 are amazing but it died and came back like a protomolocule powered zombie when Amazon saved it.

It's a great final season. They didn't mess it up like GoT did. I'm really satisfied with the writing and how well the character arcs and decisions shine through. It's just a bit disappointing that they didn't have a new pilot, but I understand that there wasn't a good way to fix it. This is one of the few series I'll still rewatch in 10 years because it doesn't grow old, just like BSG. This series is like a reflection of our today's society and where it will end if we don't fundamentally change. This future (with or without the proto-molecule) will be inevitable. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a little early but I think the problems I'm having justify commenting now. Watched thru episode #3 & haven't read this book yet. They have lost me with ep #2 & #3. I can't understand why the "Azure Dragon" wasn't repurposed to take the war to the Belt; & the missile disable is the worst trolley problem solution ever. In other eps the Roci or pirates disable a ship, blow out the drive cone &c. Why couldn't that be done to Inaros' ship? Cripple it & let the UN bag & tag him? I'm sure it's going to set things up for later, & maybe there's a good explanation that's squoze out of this abridged series, but seems like strategic and then major tactical blunders/plot holes. Do yourself a favor and stop watching this series after Season 4.
From Season 5 on it takes a stark wokeness and incompetence turn.
The story suddenly makes no sense anymore, even established actors suddenly cant act anymore, new ones are completely untalented, the dialogue becomes moronic, people act weird, the story feels irrelevant, the CGI becomes super bad, even the rather authentic

Many things are repeated all the tlme (mostly fights and idiotic dialogue of boring or completely overdone chars), and old characters suddenly are someone you dont know anymore.
Not to mention annoying characters become even more annoying and irrelevant.
I felt completely scammed after the last episode. Hopefully talented people will remake it in a few decades.

An amazing final season that sticks the landing. The final season ranges from spectacular action sequences to intimate great character moments that are built on 6 seasons of great story telling. The performances from the cast in particular was outstanding.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've got to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the last season of The Expanse. I knew going in that it had a reduced episode count of 6 and I was a little worried about this. Thankfully, I would say that, on-the-whole, it was quite a satisfying conclusion to this odyssey of a series. I have some qualms about the Protomolecule sort of taking a backseat as the series went on and, if i was being a little harsh I see parallels to how Lost slowly veered away from its mystery in favour of character drama.

Outside of the mystery of the Protomolecule falling a bit flat, I feel most of the other stuff in this season was pretty good. I liked the culmination of all the character's relationships with each other and the story beats felt well foreshadowed and not requring huge amounts of suspension of disbelief. The CGI in some of the eps felt a little ropey considering this is on Prime and thus I would imagine has a large-ish budget. But overall, it was a fun watch.

I don't feel The Expanse quite lived up to its potential in earlier seasons but that's largely due to how good it was at its peak. I still enjoyed my time with it and would have no hesitation recommending it to Sci-Fi fans. One of TV's greats in this genre alongside shows like Battlestar: Galactica if you ask me.

And yet another great season and the series finale, this series is truly among the best sci-fi works ever.
Congratulations on amazon doing a good job of science fiction.

It’s not exactly unfinished business, but this season — particularly in its last couple episodes — is marked by the confidence of a show that’s got six seasons under its belt and still doesn’t particularly feel like stopping, no matter what any official announcement might say.

For most of its running time, season six offers up the same exhilarating mixture of brutal physics, impossible situations, and wry humor that’s kept The Expanse an ongoing concern almost from the start.
