    Excellent!!! Well drawn characters and a complex, intriguing plot. I'm a huge sci fi fan and this is one of the best I've seen. The Expanse is one of only two shows I will not miss (The Good Fight being the other). I only wish there were more episodes each season! :)

    The Expanse is smart, complex, near future SF of a kind that simply can't be found anywhere else. It has brilliant political intrigue and complex factions, smart believable characters, and a budget to match its lofty ambitions. Each season so far has been better than the last.

    Reviews are such a subjective thing. But simply put, The Expanse hits all the notes for me. I find the universe created to be deep. The story is compelling. The characters to be strong. The production is fantastic.

    You can read IMDB to get the basics on the show. But I'll say this. I spend the time between each episode looking forward to the next one. It's as simple as that.

    man i love this show, a worthy successor to firefly as brother from another mother. this is scifi done right, great cast, special effects to beat the band, hasn't lost a step in three seasons. yes, please, more of this, thank you.

    This show is awesome Sci-Fi. best stuff since the BSG reboot. I love it! Season 3 banks on everything setup in season 1 and 2 and is a pleasure to watch.

    Compelling story and characters make this arguably the best Sci-Fi series in quite some time. The effects set a high standard and each season matures the story to another level of intrigue. Keeps you guessing and yearning for more. Highly recommended.

    Better than Star Trek new series, by far. I still watch the other Sci Fi series but this one is top notch.

    This season is the definition of mind blowing, non-stop entertainment. This is what you call a sci-fi/space show. Damn. And to believe it was going to be cancelled. Shame on you Syfy. To be honest, this is one of the best shows I've seen in my life, and this season has just all but cemented that. 'Triple Point' (S3 Ep 5) also has to be one of the best TV episodes I've seen ever.     One of the very best sci-fi TV shows ever made. Works on so many levels. Plot, action, character development, effects and production values are all superb. I look forward to every new episode.

    Excellent, excellent, excellent. I didn't expect this much from season 3 after a great season 2 but they pulled it off. Utterly gripped and will be watching the whole lot again soon.

    Season 3 of The Expanse is a story of two halves: the first half is the epic (and excellent) conclusion of Prax's search for his daughter; the second half a rushed exploration of the proto-molecule's actual purpose (or hints of it). The mid-season story-jump is a large 6 months - large enough that character location and motivation needs to be re-established in some detail. Then the dramaSeason 3 of The Expanse is a story of two halves: the first half is the epic (and excellent) conclusion of Prax's search for his daughter; the second half a rushed exploration of the proto-molecule's actual purpose (or hints of it). The mid-season story-jump is a large 6 months - large enough that character location and motivation needs to be re-established in some detail. Then the drama surrounding the proto-molecule's "work" is rammed through in six episodes. Perhaps the showrunners were worried because it seemed The Expanse was in its final season at the time (Amazon subsequently picked it up). Disappointing in some ways, though the increased pace and tension hide most of the issues. Still better than almost any other TV shows out there at the moment.… Expand

    Outstanding show that exemplifies what a SciFi show should be - amazing space opera, drama, believable characters with intriguing back-stories, and intriguing plot that continues to be compelling - I expect this to maintain its fan-base for many seasons to come!

    So far the best season from the most epic sci-fi in recent TV. This is been what Star Trek was in the 1960's

    Season 3 is departing more and more from the books. Season one was great, season 2 started to depart from the books and season 3 is all over the place. I realise that often a books content has to be slightly modified to fit the TV format, but this is going too far for my taste.

    I love the book series, and loved Season 1 on SyFy. But season 2 started to stray pretty far from the books, and season 3 is full of soapy drama and plot clichés. It's painful to watch something you love go senile.... Too bad. This kind of quality TV is hard to make, and expensive, but the producers and distributors should realise it will show and show and show for years.

    Loved the first season, liked second one, but can't force myself to watch third one to the end. Too much politics and personal drama. Too much annoying fighting between main characters, and too many stupid decisions they make. I'll rather give books a try, hoping they are not full of usual tv show soap opera drama and other BS.

    The first two seasons of The Expanse are excellent. It's a 9/10 series for sure, and the end of season 2 does have some closure. Honestly, it's best to stop watching there.

    Starting with season 3 we get a partial cast remix that loses Thomas Jane, who is easily the strongest and most experienced actor, and for whom the writers really put in their best effort.     Starting with season 3 we get a partial cast remix that loses Thomas Jane, who is easily the strongest and most experienced actor, and for whom the writers really put in their best effort. New cast editions are generally weak or flat out terrible, as in the case of Anna Hopkins. Her acting is whiny and her purpose is to provide a cheap moral foil that is tiresome and predictable. Talk about low effort.

    Season 3 gets extremely repetitive in its use of dialog. Every conflict between cast members is resolved the same way - with an impassioned speech or memory that's actually some sort of moral tale. It's a fine device used sparingly but nearly every conflict between the characters boils down to these mini speeches. The worst offender by far is Shohreh Aghdashloo. "You know, I knew your father and... and you're just like him, because like him you're (insert negative trait) but, also like him you're (insert positive trait), and..."

    Also disappointing is Steven Strait apparently forgot how to act. He just mopes around with drooped head and every dramatic closeup is the same squinty eyes and furrowed brow. Half the time he looks like he's on the verge of crying. He's a barely passable leader in the first two seasons, but in season 3, you wonder why anyone follows him.

    What made the first two seasons work was Thomas Jane's character and storylines. They really put a close, intimate human feeling on a stage that traverses billions of miles. You don't realize how important that is until you get to the generic sci-fi writing of season 3 where it's absent or replaced by one-dimensional characters we simply don't care about. A father pursuing his daughter that just fails to land, but there's an implication that of course any loving father would cross the universe for his daughter. Expanse doesn't show us this, it just expect our parental notions and "every child is sacred" culture to pick up the slack. You don't even feel there's a real connection between parent and child, just the usual "I want my daddy" kind of stuff.

    Now Expanse just feels like any other generic space show going through formulaic motions, bombastic sounds and what feels like avoidance of the series conclusion because the writers aren't sure how to end it. We still don't know much more about the alien presence, but it's now a mcguffin that's 3 seasons old and one wonders how they'll wrap it up in a satisfying way after all this buildup.

    To sum up, it's no surprise that SyFy chose to drop the series at the end of this season. They realized they had a bloated, unlikable cast going through a pile of formulaic scripts and it was just a matter of time before the audience figured it out.    … Expand

    I love the Expanse so much and this season reminds me why. This was the first season I would give a 10/10 too. It's just perfect TV for me, the level of detail in the writing means that every action or event that happens never feels forced or out of place.

    The expanse is an amazing tv show. The BEST if the best if hoy are talking about sci-fi series. The universe is thrilling, the characters are great and the plot so intriguing. If you dont notice yet, is one if my favourites TV show!

    Absolutely love this show, just re watched all 3 seasons again!? This show is the way syfy should be done. and I"m very happy that Prime have taken it on for season 4.
    If you love Syfy give it a look you wont be disappointed...

    I believe the Expanse will open the doors for a lot of smart space opera novels that think outside the box to work their way into tv. Although great for its time, the days of linear Star Trek/Star Wars type of space shows will become the minority.

    The Expanse isn’t perfect television, but entering Season 3 it is confident in the story it’s telling and, more importantly, the kind of stories it wants to tell.
