This is my new favorite show. It is actually fum, thrilling and made for adults. No gaps in the plot, completely serious. No silly campy pea soup. Not dumbed down, or made into a joke like Lucifer. Its tv for smart, serious people. I hope for more.

I absolutely loved it. I thought the acting was fantastic. The special effects were great. Can't wait to see the next episode! It was nice seeing Gena Davis again.

A damn good first impression is what The Exorcist adaptation to TV left at the end of the first episode. Great acting, effective horror scenes, a badass priest and YES, TUBULAR BELLS! Great, intense and creepy head start!

Great show. Very much unlike other network shows which have a different "story" or "case" each week. This is 1 story, stretching out over numerous episodes. And it is good. Please don't cancel it FOX.

First two episodes have been surprisingly engaging! Nicely paced, and the acting is good. Ben Daniels' "Father Marcus" is spectacular... I love him. Geena Davis is always good (imo), but it's really great seeing her on TV. Looking forward to more.

Ok, I'm OFFICIALLY blown away by this show. I thought it would be just one by-the-numbers homage to the William Friedkin's classic, but HELL, WHAT A MISTAKE. This show is AMAZING. The acting is really awesome, the storyline is really compelling, the fanservice scenes are awesome, specially for the classic movie fans, and the horror scenes works just fine. The Exorcist (2016) takes its time to hit it's stride but when it does, delivers an atmospheric, well acted retelling of the original film with creepy and unsettling exorcism scenes.

A bit lazy on a character motivation at the beginning--but pretty darned good premiere. I'm impressed. The acting was very strong (by the men who played the priests especially). Really good special effects and a genuinely creepy atmosphere all the way through it. I'll be tuning in to this one for sure.

This TV series was amazing, it takes the classic source material, expands upon it and manages to wrap itself up nicely in a satisfying manner, while still leaving the doors open for possible more seasons in the future. We may not get a second season, but thankfully, we don't need one to make this an amazing and enjoyable outing.

Adult, well made, well acted, elegant looking remake (based on the novel) which goes much further in scope than the classic film and unfortunately also the ludicrous. What do you want from a TV show with this title?

All told, this is an astonishingly good series that deserves much stronger positioning on the FOX schedule. The narrative is tight; the story twists are genuinely unexpected; the acting is top-notch; the makeup and effects are absolutely solid; and some of the imagery is surprisingly creepy and disturbing for a prime-time network show. I am a long-time genre fan who was initially put off by the very suggestion of tampering with such an iconic horror classic. But in a mere handful of episodes, this series managed to win me over. It is, in my opinion, simply one of the best in its genre on any network -- cable included. And I'm not inclined toward praise when it comes to this niche. I hope FOX decides to give this hidden gem the chance it truly deserves. Why the decision was made to bury it on Friday night is utterly beyond me. Expand

Just finished watching the season finale of "The Exorcist". I'll admit I'm a huge fan of the movie and therefore partially biased. For the most part, I really enjoyed this series. I seemed to always want to see the next episode. Sad that there were only 10. I think this show has tons of potential. It does need to get better in season 2 (if there is a season 2). It does need to get better in season 2 (if there is a season 2). I think it needs a little more suspense and possibly some surprise factors thrown in in order for me to rate this series higher. For now, it's a descent watch.... not a must watch. However, it has the potential to be a must watch in the future, if done right. Expand

A true inheritance to the original movie, this series offers everything a good horror show should have and leaves out everything it shouldn't. I just hope they renew it for a second season.

This is definitely one of the most surprising show of 2016. It had great acting performances, great practical effects, the story was interesting and they managed to link the show with the original movie. The exorcist was a really good show. Let's hope they don't cancel it.

I like this show because I love the theme, the struggle between good and evil in religion, as in the movie "Constantine". They have something to lure ...

This is outstanding. Was expecting nothing and three episodes in I am totally on board. Inventive, brilliantly acted and utterly fasconating, I cant wait to see where this goes. And EASILY the best exorcism drama since the original movie.

This show is one of the best with so many twists and turns and should NOT be cancelled. Please reconsider. My husband and I love it! I'm tired of "different" shows like this being cancelled. We are losing Grimm and Dead of Summer. PLEASE don't let this one go down the drain too.

this is the breakout hit of 2016. not a lot of people are talking about it deserves much more attention. The acting and writing are very strong and its only some occasionally ropey special effects that let it down.

great and very well made show! i love horror but these days everyone relies on jump scares but not this show. the use of sound is great (a lot of people forget that in horror, sound is just as important as visuals) the characters are great. Everyone should check it out

This is a great show. It details the struggle between good and evil both spiritually and physically in a great way. It also delves into quite a few social issues that can be seen in real life within the church.

Was intrigued to see what direction this show would take in it's telling but it stayed pretty true to the source material. It does make it predictable but it also gives you what makes the franchise a success.

Judging by the first episode, The Exorcist works as both a tribute to the original as well as on its own terms. There is something of a family drama inside the scares, which gives the idea of making a series out of it more staying power.

If you're the kind of person who likes scary shows and mythology, it might be fair to give The Exorcist a chance for a few episodes to see what it has planned. Both Daniels and Herrera are charismatic, and if the writers can make the God vs. the devil face-off grow beyond the Rance household, there might be a show here that's worth a few scares.

Though the first hour dutifully pays homage to the scariest movie of all time--especially in its studiously lit opening moments--and even branches out with key changes meant to elongate the story, the pilot fails to pay off in one major way: It’s not very scary.
