Claire Foy provides yet another excellent performance as Queen Elizabeth II. It is a shame this will be her last season on the show as an other actress steps in to play the Queen.

Each episode was crafted very well with the weakest being Episode 8 "Dear Mrs Kennedy". It felt a little forced and as I mentioned Michael C Hall as Kennedy could be the worst ever put on screen. The actress playing "Jackie O" was good but trying a bit too hard. Vanessa Kirby really has a place in my heart now, her Margaret is so broken but you can't help but feel for her. Overall, this was a great second season with just a small hic-up. As a standout Episode #9 "Paterfamilias" is the seasons best. Very heart-breaking and beautifully directed. Expand

The first season was my favorite of last year; this time, the queen continues her reign marvelously. This is, without a doubt, the best series of 2017. The duke of Edinburgh is more present in this season, this is not bad, but it takes off a lot of time of Claire Foy; this doesn't´t mean that the series is boring or not good. In the end, The Crown season 2 is excellent, it entertained me every episode, and sometimes it bring me a little of suspense, something that shouldn't be, because this is a historical drama; but it does. And finally, I´m very excited for season 3, and I´m sure, we´ll all mis the magnificent Claire Foy. Expand

I loved Season 1 of The Crown and I didn't think it was possible for Season 2 to be better, but it is. Terrific acting, wonderful directing, and high production values.. There are no weak links here.

I think what I enjoy most from The Crown is how the writers can take even just a minor moment from Queen Elizabeth II's history and transform it into a high quality engaging character drama that would make the later seasons of Downton Abbey green with envy.

While some episodes can be a slightly patchy in quality compared to others in the second season, it still stands as possibly the best historical period drama at this moment.

A notable stand out episode from season two is the eighth episode, "Dear Mrs. Kennedy". Brilliant pacing and redemptive character arcs excellently portrayed by both Claire Foy and Jodi Balfour.

For a European like myself watching the utterly gut-wrenching scene of Prince Philip marching behind a cohort of Nazis or all the other obscenely fake historical takes on the death of his sister was enough to wake up from this languid soap opera and realize this is extremely well packaged, meticulously assembled and well acted ...trash

This is how to do drama. Brilliant storytelling, acting and pacing together bring large scale events into each episode.

This show is simply amazing. Great opportunity to learn about history and know more about one of the greatest monarchies of all times. The whole show is splendid, the costumes, the scenario, the performances, specially Claire Foy, EVERYTHING. Great job, Netflix, thanks for such a marvelous masterpiece

Escalating the conflicts with élan while retaining all of the grace that ferried its breathtaking freshman season, Season 2 of Netflix’s The Crown is a multifaceted realisation of the British royal family between 1956 and 1964.

The first season was good, this one is awesome. Great actors, beautiful stories...the photography is beautiful.
    Claire Foy is fantastic!
This is, for me, the best show on Netflix this year and probably the best at all
Can't wait for the third season

Overall, it's well worth watching as a series. That said, it's hard to accept some of the clearly fictional adjustments to this history-based drama. Actually, the more you research certain events, the more you can get frustrated by how they were portrayed differently in this show.

And still...this thing is shot like a big budget movie, with beautiful cinematography and everything you'd want from a period drama.

Pretty good for a quasi-biographical drama. I leave some episodes wandering just what was fact and what was changed for the sake of the script. One does need to remember things do get changed to heighten the drama or perhaps smooth some rough corners - especially in the case of Princess Margaret.

Anyway, the series does generate interest and attention from this viewer. With so much

The Crown is very well done, but some episodes just drag along and struggle to stay interesting. It'll be interesting to see how season three does with the time jump.

Wonderful performances, strong scripts and scandal. The Crown remains one of Netflix's Crown Jewels, confidently shining brightly in the second season.

The viewer won’t laugh much at the latest “Crown,” which suffers, as did the first season, from great swaths of tedious speechifying broken up by electric moments.

There’s more bitter than sweet in this season, to be certain; that doesn’t sour the story, however, which speaks to Morgan’s skill in building the story and the history, which he strengthens by making season 2 more of an ensemble piece and less reliant on Foy.

This personal, complex portrayal of a monarch who by her own admission in the show would rather be living any other life is riveting enough. But The Crown is also a history lesson, as my colleague David Sims has put it, albeit a selective one. It’s gorgeously shot, with flawless re-creations of everything from the Throne Room in Buckingham Palace to a 1950s hospital ward. And it’s surprisingly funny.
