Dec 18, 2013I enjoyed it. I've long admired Fynman and had forgotten that he was involved in the investigation. It's always hard, I think, to pull off a movie when everyone knows how it will end, but in this case, it was fascinating to see how much resistance Fynman and other investigators faced during the process.

As Feynman, it takes the workmanlike Hurt a little too long to shuffle through the slate of go-to moods and characters he’s played already, but he eventually lands on a unique and compelling take on the man.

The Challenger investigation story doesn’t have quite the level of malfeasance or the cloak-and-dagger undertones of other movies about real-life government or business debacles. But it still makes for an absorbing tale, one that seems well timed for our current moment of bungled websites, unrestrained eavesdropping and public skepticism.

It’s both a learning experience and an emotional reminder of what can go wrong in that gray area separating man and machine.
