I've got to say, it's the weakest of the spin off series. Behind Resistance. Far behind Rebels and Clone Wars. Weak plot. Weak writing. Weak action. Sorry.

This was pretty weak. Some of the effects were good, but the episodes really dragged. The "Mods" street gang were utterly laughable with their stupid scooters. Only really perked up when the Mandalorian turned up.

Fett's action sequences were drastically worse than in The Mandalorian and for whatever reason they turned him into a quip dropping wannabe protection racket gangster (yes they explained why he did it but it's completely out of character). I thought episode 4 was a big improvement and then it turned into Mandalorian season 2.5 which I was all for, I also really don't understand how Robert Rodriguez's episode in Mando was great but they were utter trash here.

For the love of Lucas, Disney, stop being so damn creatively bankrupt by using OG trilogy locations and make some new interesting ones.

It has however enjoyable moments and an excellent set up for Mandalorian season 3. Many expected this to be a show that deals with the crime underworld of Star Wars and Boba Fett being a badass. Both are untrue. Instead a lot of the show is set up for later, backstory is told to much, it feels like filler material and set up for Mandalorian season 3 instead of Book of Boba Fett. The best episode of the season has no Boba Fett in it as example. Boba Fett’s journey is interesting but nothing as awesome as he was in Mandalorian. I thought first he tricks everyone with kindness but it is genuine. This weakens him as character and bites him in the back. Sadly even the teaser at the end of Mandalorian season 2 was better than some episodes. I sound too negative as I already admit that this show has great moments and fan service. For example I like the return of many characters, Boba Fett’s new pet and character that trains it, the backstory how Boba became his stick (I am in the minority here if I read other reviews correct), the final battle and the set up. It is not bad if it would lead to more. I think the show has pacing problems and some episodes end without something mayor happening. While these are not awful the negative feelings accumulate and the questions “When does the good stuff happen?” and “Was Boba Fett always like this?” are in the room. Like I said the “Return of the Mandalorian” episode is a contrast and reminds you what is possible. They do more in this episode than in the 4 Boba Fett episodes before and succeed. I would rate these episode as 10/10 and for most it is in the 9-10/10 range. This weakens the other episodes too or better said the perception. The final episode is great and raises my rating a bit. However it changes not that Boba Fett is not in the top 5 characters in the show and his story is pale in comparison to the Mandalorian or his books that I read. The soundtrack is truly great for me especially the ending theme. Overall I think the show is a missed opportunity and probably the best example for the statement “Mediocre is worse than bad” which I normally do not agree with. However on the positive side I am hyped for Mandalorian season 3. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well there it is the end of the series. As I expected this show turned out to be a weak parody for Star Wars, despite us viewers seeing there some characters from the franchise, which once again were brought for the sense of nostalgia instead of addressing the main character of the entire show. I won't review the series as it is. My goal here is to show you readers the path of the iconic character and where the creators of this show have brought him.
Allow me to remind you that the character named Boba Fett started as a cold-blooded bounty hunter, famous for his "disintegrations" working for the cruel government and the crime lords. But look! Here in this series he's a good guy with good intentions, who wants to be good because...someone saved his life? Sorry friends, but I'm not buying it. Let's take a closer look at Boba's journey.
-he starts as a son to a famous bounty hunter Jango Fett who's murdered by the jedi in front of him.
-next we see him as he tries to avenge his fathers death. We see the boy struggling for taking innocent lives, and even the lives of soldiers, yet later on he still follows the path of crime, when he attempts to deliever a cargo with the young woman in the box. (Not very nice is it?) Though in the unfinished Clone Wars episodes, we once again see Boba's good side, when he saves innocent people from Cad Bane(who regards only skill and the strength of the individual).

Let's take a moment to summurize. Boba Fett - is a fighter loyal to himself and his unsteady ideals, he is cruel and cold, yet he is always can't stand the murder of the innocents. So you can see that there already some holes in this character. He is able to stand against those who would harm innocent yet later on he would work for those who opress and destroy innocent lives. The character of Boba Fett outside the Original Trilogy is not complex HE IS BADLY WRITTEN.

But let us return to the show. As it progresses we see Boba becoming soft, because some tribe saved his life. And so they got killed. He in return have the strong desire for revenge and in the same time he wants to rule so that atrocitys would never happen again. However his methods suddenly change. He's grown weaker. And I as a viewer ask:"Why?"And the screenwriter responds with:"Just because!" His indifference for lives of his targets and enemy's lives could hardly co-exist with his empathy for the innocents, because you as a viewer still remember who he worked for in the past, so let's be honest here and say that his kindness is brought to us out of nowhere. The screenwriters had a chance to work on previous mistakes to show us the cruel hunter who isn't without mercy to those that won't involve themselves in any struggle, but instead we get cameo's and storylines of other characters of the new canon.
In the show Boba Fett is not the bounty hunter. And he is no savior either considering his desire to rule and recieve tribute for no reason but his strength, which actually makes him a tyrant under the disguise of the man with good intentions. We can make that assumption by taking a look at those who he has surrounded himself with - killers and bounty hunters. So who is Boba Fett? I have no idea. All that I saw was an attempt to show the viewer that he is super good guy because...That is the desire of Dave Filloni, John Favro and the Disney itself.

And before you brain fart fencing with lazer swords is not action movie martial arts. All the bad lazer sword fights are inspired by those mouth breathers, the good ones aren't. No cyber punk in Star Wars. Star Wars begins with a simple premise. "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away". Above all else it shouldn't care about modern earthly issues or cultures or movie genres. These little inclusions of feels erode away at the foundations of what makes this universe cool and destroys this show. Utterly.
Also the art direction is stunningly bad . Just look at how much better the animatic paintings look than the photography. Finally, The show fails to establish ANY scope or consequnce so it just feels pointless and cheesy. Bad scrpt is to blame there. Being cool REQUIRES stakes. To put that in perspective, weapons seem to make things hurt LESS in this show as often as more. It's just dumb around.

Star Wars has never felt so tiny as the whole thing happens on Tatooine on what appears to be a very budget-limited amount of sets and locations. So much of this makes no sense. The cheezy teenagers supposedly can't find work and live in the slums, yet have what appears to be very expensive hobbies and equipment. Where are Jabba's minions? How can Boba Fett presume to take control without anything backing him up? Why does he want to do this? Why stay on Tatooine? This story is all over the place and struggling to find purpose and emotional oomph. For me Star Wars has always been about planet-hopping, novelty, and interesting new things to take in. This feels like an on-going re-hash of the same creatures, scenery, settings, and even ideas such as strangling a monster with its own chains. This is falling very short of the creative magic of the original films. Boba Fett is coming across as a rather dull, nice guy who, in no way feels like the guy waling around Empire Strikes Back or kicking ass in the comics. This story concept was a very bad mis-calculation and represents a massive missed-opportunity. Star Wars is operating under the continuing belief that if it has Banthas, Jawas, sand dunes, and characters that look like a Mandalorian, then fans will gobble it up. It's the ambitious creativity working towards creating something fresh and exciting that makes Star Wars great; not rehashing things that we loved because it was new and exciting in the past. Expand

However, the gamemaster had one condition: He had to start back at level 1. Nobody would respect him and he'd have to work with the saddest losers imaginable. None of his abilities would work until he had reached certain leveling thresholds and he'd only be as smart and as badass as the player managed to portray him.

So... Boba is now en par with a womprat. Great job. Lucky for him, everyone else is as dumb as a bowl of grits, too.

But where the prequels have some campy fun to them, Boba Fett is simply unpleasant and strange.
Just watched the finale and it makes the end of GoT look like Shakespeare. Did an AI write this? Still one point for how great it looks and for letting me know what watching tv with head trauma must be like.
I have watched boring shows and bad ones, but I never saw a train wreck like this. If they had stopped at any point and just showed their budged slowly burning, it would have been a better show. More honest, too. Seriously, wtf?
So let me correct myself, this isn't the prequels, this is Return of Skywalker. An incoherent mess, where the biggest accomplishment is that you can't say for sure how much is incompetence and how much is cynicism.

The writing was nonsensical, it just made our main character seem clueless and aimless and why fight over cocoanuts then there's a fountain right there?

Even the music was meh.

Heck the whole thing was meh. Meh wars.

The idea for the show is very interesting, the most dangerous Bounty Hunter in the galaxy becomes a crime lord, this is pretty interesting and fresh to the Star Wars universe because this time we could get a Gangstar show, and explore more of the criminal world of star wars. However this is no such thing. The first two episodes are mostly retrospections, where Boba, after escaping the Sarlaac lives by the Tuskens, and when we are in the present days, Boba does absoluteley nothing. He just walks around the Town saying he is now the Boss around here and thats it. If he gets Attacked he gets his Ass beat and Fennec has to do all of the fighting. There is also many wasted potential, because two Hutts are claiming Jabbas territory, which Boba now controlls for themselfes, they even try to assasinate Boba, but after that they just go away because the Pykes are coming and leave the territory to Boba without any actuall fight. So there are two episodes very boring episodes where actually nothing happens. In the third episode, Boba get notified that a gang of cyberpunk teens on motorcycles are robbing someone who is under the protection of Boba as a Daimyo. When Boba talks to this gang, they get angry and disrespecting, so Boba deals with them like the Crime Lord he wants to be right? Wrong. He just says "You wanna work? then work for me" and this gang just "ok". I mentioned earlier that the Hutts wanted to assasinate Boba, they do this in the third episode, they hired a Wookie Bounty Hunter which just beat his ass. Boba has to be rescued by his new gang like a complete amateur, as i said from the Bad ass Bounty Hunter is nothing there. After the assasin is defeated the Hutts are saying that they are leaving this planet because the pykes are coming. This is also dumb because the Hutts would better fit as Antagonists then the Pykes in this show. What happens with the Wookie Assasin? He just gets recruited. This is the third time by now that somethink like this happens. First time were with the gamorean guards which i didnt mention. They want to stay loyal to their previous lord, so Boba prais their loyalty and after that the gameorians just join Boba. They just like "ok now we will serve you know, because why not". The second time where with this Cyberpunk gang i mentioned and now with the Wookie. At the end of the episode they have to hunt down one of the mayors assistents, because the mayor hired assasins to kill Boba. The Assistant flees in his car, what does Boba? Uses his jet pack to catch the fugitive? No, he does nothing again and sends his Cyberpunk gang after him. The chase scene was also really bad. They were so slow that i thought these are just kids, chasing themselves on Bikes. And then the episode ends. Again a very boring episode. The fourth episode is (except for the last five minutes) completely a retrospection. It shows us how Boba met Fennec, how he stole the Slave 1 from jabbas palast and how he searched for his Armor. This isnt a bad idea, if it was the first episode of the show, but now its to late and again it is not the gangster show which was shown in the trailers. On the end Boba says that he needs men for the upcoming war with the pykes and the mando music appears. So the first four episodes were boring, and without anything that really happens. Now the fifth and sixt episodes are not even a Boba Fett show anymore, it is just a setup for Mandalorian Season 3. Now we could expect that Mando will return, the problem is that in the fifth episode Boba doesnt appear and it focus only on Mando. The first half at least something happens but in the second half, they just build for Din a new ship after which comes nothing but easter eggs on previous Star Wars projects. Still this was the best episode so far but it was still a lame episode. The sixth episode is just fan service and nothing more. We are shown how grogu gets trained by Luke, Ahsoke appears from nowhere without areason, the Marshall from Mando season 2 appears, he even gets a Western Stand-off whith Cad Bane at the end, which is to be fair very cool scene. Cad Bane is also next to Mando the only guest appearence which makes sense, because he got a history with Boba. What does Boba in this episode? Nothing. He gets just like 20 seconds screen time and thats it. What with the Men they need to recruit for the upcoming War? Mando recruits them, the citicens of mos espa. It doesnt make sense, you cannot tell me that Boba cant just hire some Bounty Hunters like Bossk for example. In the last episode the war comes and this is a good episode But it does not rescue the show. summing up this Series is just a huge Dissapointment Expand

This is a very weak offering from the Star Wars universe. This little lost lamb appears to be out of his depth in this new world of killers and theives, blundering his way through many trials, all of which happen to include flashbacks that seem to show a lesson not learned by past experiences. This is an extremely clumsy slog through the birth of a criminal empire, harkening back to the early seasons of The Startup, but without the jokes,or any insider knowledge.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Book of Boba Fett is the most poorly written live action Star Wars content since the prequels. A character who was literally working for Darth Vader is presented as having a heart of gold with no motivation or internal conflict. A grandpa with veneers. The great actors can’t salvage poor writing. Chapter 1 portrays Boba and Fennec come across as one dimensional morons who think they can run a criminal empire by walking around with two guards and petitioning the mayor of a backwater city. Chapter 2 revives the Dave Filoni favorite trope of “training the villagers.”

Chapter 3 is so horrible, with the power ranger vespa gang, that even die hard fans who rationalize poor writing are struggling to enjoy the episode.

The version we get in this latest series is so very far removed from Boba Fetts character, it’s embarrassing. He does things that make no sense, like wanting to be a crime lord, teaming up with a bunch of robotic teens on colourful hover bikes that somehow aren’t intimidated by the legend of Boba Fett. It’s as if the characters in this story and writers forgot who this character was. He acts like an excited child, he no longer gives off the silent, efficient and cool demeanour he once had. They should’ve have left him as a cameo in The Mandalorian, because that at least was great.

Too few things get explained, the plot is painstakingly slow, and the world (unlike in The Mandalorian) feels so small and contained, namely to plotting the whole show on Tattoine (which, for the love of god, show us some other planets PLEASE). Boba Fett's character takes a partial 180, which I don't mind too much given he didn't have much character in the movies, but I understand why it would upset fans. The new characters also really don't land and are totally forgettable, unlike in the Mandalorian. Hopefully Disney course-corrects for Kenobi and actually hires some writers that can tell a fun, engaging story with some excellent characters to boot, cause this show ain't it chief. Expand

The overall writing and direction was terrible and boring. It wasn’t thought through whatsoever. Boba Fett somehow takes over an entire city with just one other person. Then they decide they need “muscle” for a war and they only have a handful of people…it’s just pathetic. The action scenes didn’t make sense int he final episode. There were giant droids with forcefields that clearly couldn’t penetrated by blasters but everyone just kept shooting without even trying to come up with a plan. Don’t even get me started on the punk kids and their scooters. I almost turned it off right when I saw those… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last episode was literally like a hammer in the face of a long lasting fan of this character. Sorry, not of this character, of Boba Fett not Jake Fett. They took the most badass and feared bounty hunter in the galaxy and made him a Disney Princess with morals and compassion. What on the Outer Rim was that? It is disrespectful of the lore of this franchise. Then they introduced those clown like characters that feel totally out of context and out of a Cyberpunk no budget fan film on YouTube. Not to mention the classic copy paste strong woman character that comes out with a totally arrogant attitude and mocks the hero of the show, then Jake Fett proceeds to bow before her and side with these Power Rangers. This franchise has started to have more bad content than good content and if Disney will milk it forever and destroy it forever instead of letting it die, maybe I should be the one to let it die for myself and completely ignore it from now on. Note: This review has only covered the contents present in the first 3 episodes & will be updated as more content rolls out.

So far The Book of Boba Fett is an alright experience that, when inevitably compared to its counterpart, The Mandalorian, lacks in almost every single facet.

-Flashback storyline should have been the only focus, since it's extremely more interesting than the current events
-Narrative doesn't feel focused
-The character of Boba Fett has been completely reimagined, which doesn't make any sense
-The character's new personality doesn't fit as a crime boss -Some of the CGI looks very cheap
-Some of the cinematography & cuts are very jarring
-Some of the dialogue is cheesy (more than Star Wars is used to)
-Many frustrating moments (in the first episode, for example, Boba Fett got surrounded but he could easily have used his jetpack to escape)

Overall, The Book of Boba Fett feels like a bucket of cold water that shockingly & unapologetically contradicts the reputation this beloved character has built throughout the decades, transforming him into nothing more than a fool who, because of the changes to the way the character acts, doesn't fit the role of a crime lord in the SW universe.
What a sad & infuriating joke.

Then as he gets more power and control you can give him the moral dilemma’s of bounty hunting or ruling with fear or respect. Instead Disney needs to sell toys of their new shiny money cow and his gang of power ranger knock offs, so they have to make him some noble do-gooder right off the rip. It’s fine, but it’s missed potential and borderline bad. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was so excited for this character to finally get some real screen time....then I saw the screen and cringed. Wow. For me the worst part is that the best parts of this show aren't even organic to this show. It's Mandalorian. That's just plain sad to me. The show was poorly written and edited. Then add in the amount of cheesyness is just wat too much that it's almost comical. What do they say in Marvel? Tony tells Parker, “If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.” Well he proved he shouldn't have it. I was shocked how the series painted him in such a weak way. The female lead was way more of a leader the whole time. I'm sad to see the good old Star wars name slapped on something so poorly put together. I will say, the first 10 minutes and I was so happy and excited....then I felt I must of changed the channel because it switched. Just sad. The King Kong aspect at the end, SMH. Honestly? I had my reservation after the first episode so I looked into the movie history of the other director Robert Rodriguez and I can't say I am surprised. After seeing how Bryce Dallas Howard did the best episode...I wish she had done the entire show and maybe we would of gotten a real Boba Fett and not a McDonald's Kids meal toy. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. All I’ll say is this is a complete disappointment. From the P.C. narratives, the nonstop flashbacks, and Boba Fett essentially being a wimp and the exact opposite of his character in Empire & ROTJ…there’s very little to like here. Cinematography is great. Special effects are good. Nothing makes sense. Plus he literally kills no one, he has his “sidekick” sniper tell him to do just about everything and she does all the work. No surprise from a SW these days, but it makes Boba look wimpy. He looks less powerful than her and less in charge. He takes his helmet off for no reason. Helmet on- intimidation. Helmet off- old man with burnt skin. Makes no sense. I just don’t understand why they are making this show so terribly. Mandalorian seems more Boba Fett than Boba Fett does. Expand

Boba Fett feels likeAlthough some interesting elements in the series so far, I'm disappointed by how The Book of Boba Fett has been written its Main Character Boba Fett and how his mystique and legend of old have been softened and minimized. Boba Fett feels like a shark with all his teeth stripped out. Amazing Cameos by some comic fan favorite sees an uneventful and comical defeat at the hands of a mod vespa riding gang of actors who look more fit staring in a GAP ad than in the deserts of Tatooine. It feels like one of the worst stylistic choices seen in Star Wars in sometime. With those critique out of the way I do give the series credit of giving the Tusken Raiders a bit more depth. The characters and aliens in the series are all beautifully styled and integrated. I hope to see more from the series and happily update my review if in the following episodes the series corrects some of these satirical feeling choices. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought the "New" star wars team was supposed to be an upgrade over the last bunch. While the mandalorian has it moments this show is a big mess. The scenes with Boba roaming the streets as crime boss are hard to watch. The scenes with the "poor, homeless kids" and their fancy bikes and gadgets is super corny. I try to remind myself that these shows are aimed at children but I would think even an 8 year old would find these poorly written and executed. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just bad. At no point was there an attempt at explaining why boba fett went from the most feared bounty hunter, to a milk toast kind hearted old man. The dude gets his ass kicked regularly, and doesn’t know how to think for himself.

The flashbacks don’t provide anything to the “current” plot line. The raiders don’t even get names! The side characters are lame, and the story isn’t even good enough for a first draft.

In the final battle, I think there was a single “good guy” that was killed, even with a whole army, and droids with impenetrable shields. Hot mess of garbage, with a single decent Mandalorian episode thrown in there in an attempt to fool you into thinking something was there.

Instead of telling a cool story about one of the most mysterious and "badass" characters in the Star Wars universe, we can another Mandalorian with a bad mood and less charisma.

Especially his heroic and "honorable" behavior seems completely out of character and a missed opportunity to tell a cooler, more interesting story.

And then there's the missing tone. I don't know what exactly, but the entire production, style, music, and tone seem slightly off about this show. It feels a bit more like a Saturday morning cartoon than an actual Star Wars story.

Basically, given that we already have the Mandalorian, this show has very little new to offer and takes from the legend of Boba Fett more than it adds.

The main plot feels almost completely sidelined. Meanwhile there are plenty of side plots that at times don't really have much to do with the main plot while possibly making up more then half of it. Main plot points are introduced, only for it to quickly end. It feels like this was originally the script for the cancelled Boba Fett movie, but they just hastily turned it into a series. You know it's pretty bad when they just throw in a trailer as filler. However there are moments of entertainment, but what ties it all together is an utter mess. Expand

I felt the first two episodes weren’t strong but were making some attempt to be engaging. Episode 3 introduced characters and obvious production failings that are simply perplexing. Episode 4 has sealed the fate of this series for me. I can’t progress past this point. Characters that could be pulled straight out of Power Rangers are just so jarring and out of place. I’m a big advocate of practical effects over CGI if it is done well but, the puppetry in this series makes the muppet show look good. The writing is horrendous with no apparent attention paid to lore or even detail within each episode. The production values just seem to have vanished. Not sure what budgetary constraints they had but there are obvious corners that have been cut. Oh… and the endless use of recycled material and old tropes. Even they are executed poorly. Yes, I get it, that's the last place we saw Boba Fett and we needed to see how he escaped the Sarlac pit, but why would he stay on Tatooine and become a tribal warlord? It doesn't make sense. It would have been way cooler if he got out of the sand and called Slave One and got back to business; and not the story we got instead. We already saw something pretty similar on The Mandalorian (another 'ALMOST there but not quite' show in my opinion.), and although there were some cool ideas and visuals, the story is completely retreaded and unoriginal, like everything else Disney does nowadays. Who is this mysterious bounty hunter who is allowed to take Han Solo away just like that? I also always liked Boba in the later movies, books or series. I also wish Star Wars 1313 had never been set. But well, that's another dilemma. The Book of Boba Fett, however, does make me wonder. Because as cool as Boba is, he's not yet suitable as a protagonist in the first episode. The taciturn warrior, who is a bit evil and a bit sweet, but otherwise contributes little, doesn't exactly captivate me in front of the screen. Especially since Boba hasn't had a chance to really shine yet. His performance in The Mandalorian was more impressive there.

Aside from Boba, there hasn't been much to put the series in a good position yet either. Sure, I'm dying to see more of the Underworld. But the exit sequence just before the credits didn't manage to necessarily get me fired up for the release of the next episode. Let's see if the subsequent episodes can turn the thrust vector control around again.

He needs slight girls to save him all the time, and he cannot remember to use the equipment logically due to contrived convenience. The plot holes, such as flame thrower in an enclosed space in a suit that is at least half cloth, are the main elements. Even if you can forgive all of that, the poor editing where characters are in different poses or locations between shots is inexcusable. Review after Episode 3: some basic good ideas extremely poorly executed. This is not worth your money nor your time.

The show needs to hire a paid, human, adult writer to replace the intern, child, chimp that is currently writing the scripts.

It also needs to hire a choreographer for the fight scenes whose prior credits include something more than Sesame Street.

The good:
1) It is not outrageously insulting to Star Wars fans like the third trilogy and most of the spin-off movies were.

2) Above CW-level production value (visual effects, wardrobe, photography, music, etc.).

The bad:
1) Nonsensical writing.
2) Terrible fight choreographies. 3) Portrayal of Boba Fett as a completely different character from the one we saw in the Mandalorian: tired, gutless, dumb.

The Mandalorian was no masterpiece (6/10 in my opinion), but this is (so far, at least) way worse. Avoid.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Like, Boba Fett is the weakest crime boss ever. He hires a lame Mod gang riding space scooters. Doesn't kill the wookie that almost successfully assassinates him. Tries to make peace with Hutts that are clearly out for his blood (twice). He's like an 80's Saturday morning cartoon version of a crime boss. Weak acting, an unutterably stupid story. Expand

That being said, I was very excited for this new Boba Fett series coming out when it was first teased at the end of the second season of Mando. Unfortunately, this series is a very mixed bag in terms of story quality, CGI, and acting. Boba Fett's character has been more or less completely redone. Instead of the cold, calculating bounty hunter, he's turned into more of a wise old man figure who seeks to solve conflicts through diplomacy rather than blaster fire. This is executed in a less than impressive performance by Temuera Morrison who clearly does not fit the role of either of the personas I just talked about. Honestly, it feels like Morrison was trying his best to hold back his expressive personality. His performance felt natural in the prequels, as Jango was presented as this arrogant and deadly bounty hunter, but Boba's character in this series is the complete opposite. If it wasn't for the helmet, his mediocre performance would have been much more apparent. It doesn't help that the story flipflops back and forth between with story themes and events. You have these moments of retrospection suddenly shift to suspense out of no where. The acting of the other characters is a mixed bag too. Returning faces from Mando are still solid, but the new cast is either mediocre or just down right terrible. Don't even get me started on the Mods. God, wtf were they thinking with those characters. The cheesy action of Star Wars does not compliment the straight up goofy acting by some of the cast and it felt like I was watching some amateur fan movie with some of the scenes. The settings are very well made however, and a lot of references from older movies can be seen in this series which is welcome fan service for long time fans. Tatooine felt alive and not like some ghost town. Certain episodes in particular are also straight up fantastic, but those unfortunately are the ones where Boba Fett is not the main focus (and where the director changes). Overall, I would recommend watching it if you're a casual fan of Star Wars as it's fairly easy to dive into since there's little to know background knowledge of the series necessary outside of watching Mando. 6/10 Expand

People act like Filoni is the savior of Star Wars but this proves that he is not. His stories are afraid to go anywhere and have no teeth. He's ruining character backstories and shoehorning his own characters needlessly into stories just like Lucas did with the prequels.
Star Wars needs its Kevin Fiege and Filoni ain't it.

The episodes in which Boba didn't appear or had hardly any screentime were the best. Which is not very good for a series called "The Book of Boba Fett".

Nevertheless, the series was all in all okay, but I will definitely not watch it again.

Undeserving of all the bad reviews, especially considering the fact that only the first episode has aired. And while it may have been a little on the slow side, it was still enjoyable from this Star Wars fan's perspective.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am so confused on what these bad reviewers were watching. Maybe they're not real Star Wars fans. The show is incredible, spoiler, starting off with how Bobba got out of the Sarlacc pit. It is a little slow at the start but they are setting up a full, detailed story of Bobba and Tatooine. This takes time to do and mind you it is never boring. Expand

I can definitely see the criticism with certain parts of the show and the writing isn't quite as strong as other Star Wars shows (animated or otherwise). There was a certain point mid season that had the lamest chase scene I've ever seen (what were they thinking with those candy-colored mopeds?). However...before the season is over they bring on some really neat characters and fill in quite a bit of story from The Mandalorian. Growing up reading the books about the bounty hunters of the Star Wars universe, it always seemed like the perfect premise for a TV show. No Jedi, just the mercenaries. The Mandalorian definitely did a pretty good (arguably better) job of this concept, but Book of Boba Fett has enough to keep the ball in the air. For instance-Krrsantan might be my new favorite character. I had no idea who he was before this show, but they really took a cool idea from the comics and made him come to life. Same thing with Cad Bane showing up in the last few episodes. A fantastic character from the animated series' that you get to see in a live action show, I was so hyped when he showed up on screen. Fennec Shand also deserves a mention since she holds up a lot of the show. Temuera Morrison is, unfortunately, not a great actor at all. George Lucas picked him for Jango Fett and so now we're stuck with a version of Boba Fett that always sounds stilted and robotic. There is also another pretty weird story choice involving Luke Skywalker. They have a bit of a training montage with Grogu and it's a little cheesy and Luke kind of comes off as a creep rather than a zen master ("let me help you remember" uh...no thanks?). But as the dramatic cliffhanger he gives Grogu an ultimatum-continue to be friends with Mando or become a Jedi, because Jedi can't have emotional attachments. So basically, Luke learned nothing from his father's cautionary tale. The entire galaxy was enslaved because the Jedi council said Anakin couldn't be close with Padme. In the now-defunct expanded book universe, Luke realized this error and even gets married himself. Attachments are good for the Jedi. So this show is basically setting up the same Luke Skywalker who chooses to kill his nephew in his sleep because a he had a vision. They really want to stomp all over that original trilogy, don't they? At any rate, watch the show. Yeah, you won't like Boba Fett. Yeah, you'll think it's like "Dances with Wolves". Yeah, it's got a lot of poorly done effects and people in masks slapping each other. But watch it for Krrsantan. Watch it for Cad Bane. Watch it because it's The Mandalorian Season 2.5. I was glad I didn't give up on it!

As a Star Wars fan of 15+ years, I loved this show. More than anything, the show paid tribute to the sheer willpower of Boba Fett, including from the very first scene. The costumes and cinematography were a treat - you could tell that the show was made by someone that loves and understands Star Wars.

My only gripe is that for whatever reason, two episodes of 'The Mandalorian' were inexplicably shoehorned into an already short run of BoBF.
