There’s something about this show that keeps me coming back even though part of me wants to quit watching. The unique characters and plot twists are a part of the appeal, Reddington’s outlandish personality and actions also entertain.

I find myself enduring cycles of contempt and disgust for many of the characters, especially the FBI task force and Tom, the sometimes hubby. This show

This show is an acquired taste and one can see how it would not appeal to everyone. For now it’s one of my guilty pleasures but one that I might just get over some day.

Must say this season is holding my attention better than the past two seasons. Elizabeth’s kick ass attitude has helped her character grow and get interesting. No longer a victim - there’s a lot to like about that.

Without James Spader as Raymond Reddington 1 out of 10 would be generous. For the most part it just seems to be made up as it goes along and is laughable at times. All the actors playing FBI agents are awful, in particular Megan Boone whose acting is wooden and she has no facial expressions whatsoever, which I'd say is a necessity for actors.

When you are rooting for the bad guys, hoping they kill off the FBI agents you know there is something wrong with the acting, script, and direction.
James Spader is the only reason to watch, but that can only last for so long.

This serial is one of a kind spectacle. Starting from Spader's performance on Raymond Reddington the brilliantly crafted written charismatic character which proves that there is no black or white good and evil. It is such a legendary performance that I believe not just myself but others keep coming back for this character. Starting from Spader's performance on Raymond Reddington the brilliantly crafted written charismatic character which proves that there is no black or white good and evil. It is such a legendary performance that I believe not just myself but others keep coming back for this character. It is the most epic performance and character right next to Heath Ledger's joker. And now Elizabeth also joins the charismatic characters list. The actors are amazing and out of this show performances make this on of the most thrilling police crime serial. The writing is decent and immersive and has real depth. The plot proves the theory of the 'Lesser evil' and put the viewer in a shady grey moral system. It's really raw and reflects on real world problems in a weird way. The directing is decent as well but the episode suffer from real pacing issue which is the main thing holding this serial back from being in the top. It loses focus and interest in the viewers mid way through the episode plot. And this season was no different. Sadly this element has to be worked on, because it breaks the immersion with the viewer and looses entertainment value.
Overall this is a very good TV series just shy of amazing.
