Now that this masterpiece of a show got renewed for a second round, The Bear got even bigger. The outstanding performances by the fearless cast and the attention detail from the showrunners elevated the show so incredibly well to the point where drama and comedy that takes place inside and outside of the kitchen work naturally. If it weren’t for Matty Matheson and Christopher Storer, The Bear wouldn’t get made today and I am so happy it did after season one premiered. Just to say it again chef, The Bear kicks ass! Expand

The Christmas episode and the Finale were some of the best tv I've seen in a long time. This show feels very human.

Another brilliant season incoming. First season was a masterpiece, the second already on track to be the same.

When a series like The Bear comes out blazing from the start, there's concern the second season won't measure up to the first. No worry. Carm and the crew, do not disappoint. Cannot wait till next season. Expand

A masterclass in storytelling. The dinner episode, the Copenhagen one, the final one, and the one about Richie are just superb TV. The wait for season 3 will be excruciating.

I wouldn't have thought the second season could be better than the first..but I was wrong.

I think the show does so much justice to the hot headed people I've known all my life. The show just emphasizes with the angry, loud and difficult people, that deep down have big hearts. To my father in law, who is always angry that cares too much, to my old coworker who was always smoking and

To my father in law, who is always angry that cares too much, to my old coworker who was always smoking and swearing, but really a great guy that tried to set me up with a friend. This show is for you, the people of my life that simultaneously make my life difficult, but absolutely rewarding.

This show is incredible! I think it goes way WAY deeper than food. It's about obsession and intense passion to create art! Very inspiring and will use some of the techniques I learned from the show to better my own career. Thank you for creating an INTENSE masterpiece (both season 1 and 2 are amazing)

Second season was more brilliant than the first one. Episode 6 of S2 has a heavy space and several impressive moments along with a great ending. I think this tv series has a good director, very nice actors and actresses, but the story isn't wonderful or brilliant.

Some absolutely insane episodes. S2 starts of weak and finishes strong. The middle Christmas reunion episode was a real tour-de-force.

The Bear is an increasingly excellent show from season to season, which is no mean feat given that the first season was already better than most TV, and I can't wait to see where this phenomenal ensemble goes from here.

An extended mid-series flashback episode (no spoilers here) is an exhilarating tour de force. From there, the series ignites: a scorching, shooting blue flame of humour, intensity, camaraderie, disaster, passion. If it sometimes seems like a television prescription for workaholism, the professional kitchen presented as a proxy for the human soul, The Bear gets away with it.

The writing remains incredible. Fleet, funny (it’s one of the rare purveyors of convincing naturalistic jokes and jibes between friends and colleagues), and always moving seamlessly from light to dark moments and back again as only people as deeply connected as these can do, it never makes a false move.
