The Ark is another abysmal show from the modern “entertainment” industry. The characters were dull, shallow, stereotypes and the dialogue was inane babble used to point out the mystery boxes. This show sounds like it was written by Jr. High kids who flunked creative writing. It’s the typical and uninteresting formula of mystery boxes + social drama + CGI that comprises almost every show these days. Stupid, boring, and not worth my time. This show is horrible.… Expand

I have seen some bad Sci-Fi in my time and this ranks up there among the worst. It is cheesy and corny - not in a good way. There is a very diverse character set which has been made into little more than caricatures to virtue signal. In a word, Cringe.

Picture a ship full of Wesley Crushers, now add lack of impulse control (hormonal teen level of poor impulse control), soap opera levels of drama and the worst kind of Pseudoscience you can imagine (making Star Trek look mild by comparison) and you're about halfway there.… Expand

Extremely poor on multiple fronts. Atrocious science, almost not a single aspect of any degree of technology on this show makes any sense, laws of physics are routinely broken without explanation and supposedly top tier equipment is allExtremely poor on multiple fronts. Atrocious science, almost not a single aspect of any degree of technology on this show makes any sense, laws of physics are routinely broken without explanation and supposedly top tier equipment is all extremely shoddy, insanely poorly planned and fails constantly in truly bizzare ways.

The characters all act extremely dumb, for a supposedly hand-picked "best of the best" collection of people, most of them would never pass an actual psych test, they immediately break down at the slightest hardship and act like literal children. Almost none of them have any concept of school-level of science and engineering and make absurdly idiotic decisions all the time.

The actions of the bad forces of the season are baffling to say the least, bordering on cartoonishly evil. I kept watching hoping to see the "so this is why we did it", but nope, they just did evil things because they're evil. Awful.

I feel like the writers didn't bother checking ANY of the science that they wrote with a single knowledgeable person and ended up just reskinning what amounts to a teenage drama show into an extremely fake space environment.

The only positive thing in all this mess is the big overarching story and the setting. They wrote a really interesting overview but failed miserably at filling in the details. I hatewatched it till the end of the season because I was really curious about the setting. Would not recommend doing that to anyone else.… Expand

Yeah it's the same formula here, with a cast of diverse and inclusive actors that looks just like downtown Los Angeles 2023. All the men are bumbling failures, who constantly need the strong and independent ladies to lead them away from their masculinity. This is just a teen drama in space, that doesn't get any science correct, nowhere near the quality of 'the expanse'. The concept is great, but the writing and execution is horrible.… Expand

Unfortunately the ark seems to be another one of those space shows/movies where things go wrong on the ship and the people just argue over what to do and chaos ensues because people are selfish. I hope this isn't the case and something else enters the picture to keep the viewers interested besides a soap opera between people inside a ship in space. Like why would the viewers care about anyone in the crew or if they die? when we didn't even get any background information on them? I hope the next few episodes isn't going to be a slow burn of character build ups and their life back on earth just to drag out the show because that would be so boring.… Expand

Oh dear, let's nit Bevin any doubt, this us a poor show, very bad acting (especially the so called Scottish fella) but fir some reason J stayed until the end!
