I watched the entire series in 11 days. I really liked it and now he is my favorite. Tension, interest and humor are cool. Recomend for everybody

Why are there people who like it? I mean, I, for sure, didn’t watch it but is this crap really interesting? Just look at those people’s faces... they are disgusting. Just terrible show...

Teen Wolf is a Chosen One story where there is nothing about the Chosen One to make him worthy of the role, and nothing in his past to lead him to be worthy. And we, as the viewers, are expect to just trust that he is worthy in a cast where almost any other character would fit the role better.

From season 1, the writing has been shameful. It's like the writers forgot that even in a fictional world, there needs to be internal logical consistency But what makes this show irredeemable, is almost exclusively the main character. Scott McCall is a male Bella Swan. A poorly handled Gary Stu. He's also vapid, spoiled, shallow, privileged and entitled. This isn't an issue with the actor, this is an issue with the script. As the seasons went on, the writers became aware that hardly anyone was watching for Scott. In fact, most people hated him. So they started nerfing better-liked characters with better-crafted storylines and shoveling the exact same qualities in Scott's direction.

Needless to say, the series started bleeding viewers. You can really see this from the 4th season, on the heels of its highest rated season yet.

Now, to be fair to the writers, there weren't many ways to save the main character after Season 1. The way he was established gave him an unjustified head start and self-insert style personality. Redemption would require a reset of some kind. Everything he gained turning against him or going wrong, allowing him to come back to the table with more wisdom and maturity.They were capable of that plot. But they chose to give it to the character who best suited the main character role, instead of the actual main character.

Apart from the main character having a story nobody wants to hear, the moral messaging of the show is hit or miss. Sexual Orientation: A grade
Diversity: B grade
Female characterization: C grade
Platonic female relationships: D grade
Male characterization: B grade
Platonic male relationships: D grade
Handling of introduced sensitive topics (eg. abuse, neglect, grief, guilt, grooming, rage, body dysmorphia etc): Fail (nice to have them introduced but they were not handled well in most cases). I also found one particular aspect of the story to have a particularly bad message. The main character takes a role similar to a colonizer, assuming sovereignty of a land that is not his on the basis that he is 'more civilized' and 'can do things better' than the people who have held sovereign for generations. This is paired with the message that if you are a good person, you don't have to sacrifice to become powerful. While that seems trite, but not particularly offensive, the show insinuates that it is incredibly rare that a member of an entire species has enough strength of character to rise to such power. In other words, this species intimately connected to the land lacks the morality a teenager who spends a good 80% of the show with his brain in his pants happens to possess. But that's not all, there's also a forced sterilization narrative (see Season 4, Calavera's threats). The 'good guys' show a sociopathic lack of empathy to the native pack, paint them as criminals, and never demonstrate remorse. It's a mess. For such a racially inclusive show to be so careless with the messaging is just terrible. So, why is this so highly rated when the show is so, so bad?

Well, there are a few reasons.

First, the fandom is very prolific, and became so very quickly. Fanworks often compensate for the flaws of their respective fandom, altering how those aspects of the original work are perceived. Second, it appealed to mostly one of two groups. Fans coming from shows in the same genre, like Supernatural. And teens under 15. Teens under 15 can forgive a lot. Fans coming from other shows are more likely to be involved in fandom.

Third, the cast is attractive and can actually act. Which is kind of rare for this target audience.

Fourth, diversity. The things those of us who are minorities will do for the slightest crumb of representation can not be overstated.

Fifth, and finally, the inclusion of supernatural creatures that are often ignored. There are a lot of mythology buffs out here. Even if you don't read the driest accounts, you usually enjoy a good fairytale. We're all nerds at heart really.

This is my recommendation: Watch Seasons 1-3b. Leave the rest alone. Is Season 1-3b good? Sort of. It's mediocre with 3b being just plain fun. But up to that point, I can say it's worth watching. Past that point, it gets so bad it will ruin your day.… Expand

Loved everything about it, especially Stiles Stalinski. Even though I didn't want it to end, I can recognize the last season got a bit too much. Teen Wolf, is one of my favorite series on netflix. it is extremely well made and i have watched it through 3 or so times still loving it!

A fantastic TV series!! The story is really amazing, the mythology and the creatures of Teen Wolf are very interesting and detailed, every character is definited and the actors are really good in their roles.

I dropped this series after a couple of seasons. First, it felt interesting, you could try to relate to the main character suddenly getting superpowers. But the story wasn't that interesting. 5/10.

Talvez tenha seu peso pela nostalgia, mas tudo é muito ruim, principalmente os efeitos especiais. Ao menos a escolha do elenco é acertada, dá pra ver que estão à vontade no papel e se divertindo.

Não se justificam as mais de duas horas de duração pra algo tão banal, se acaso não tivesse se levado tão a sério, uma pitada de comédia funcionaria.… Expand
