First two seasons of this show were great, but I have no idea what they’re doing with season 3. There’s no soccer anymore, and minimal interactions between the characters that drive the first two seasons. We watch TV and movies to escape our lives for just a few mins and reset ourselves emotionally to better handle our lives. This show is not that escape anymore.

This show lost everything that made it great. The heart, playfulness, and all of my emotional investment in the characters... It's now unfortunately drudgery viewing from all the forced, bad-side of Woke and one-sided politics.

Drop off in entertainment value is stark. The themes are cringey and Ted (and the show's) refusal to learn anything about football after 3 seasons is more pathetic than funny.

Ted and the Boys have turned WOKE in what I hope is the final season. What a way to ruin what was once a great show.

Very annoying series the gets more cringey with every episode. Can't believe this has won top prizes for a couple of years. The season three premiere is bad, boring and corny as hell.

Just a fantastic probable final season to this show. I was on the fence about the direction it was going in S2 but it has 100% proved me wrong. The whole thing feels very full circle and one short and sweet story and, to be honest, I cannot fault that.

Just like it's eponymous main character Ted Lasso the show has lots and lots of heart. It feels very true to life, and whilst (as a football fan) I can't say the actual sport was realistic I think criticising the show based on that is superficial - I wouldn't judge many a show on how true to real life it actually is but rather how true to real life it feels and Ted Lasso is one of the best recent shows in that vein. I have gotta say of the new streaming services Apple has been really excelling in its content and this is the type of show that can draw viewers in for years to come.

Ted Lasso is a little bit like if Ned Flanders was the main character in The Simpsons. You would get bored quite quickly.

Sudekis is doing a good job, it’s his character that didn’t have enough depth to carry a whole series. And why do they always feed him with these witty funny lines that don’t sound natural? It just gets really annoying at one point. It’s like in every dialog the

It just gets really annoying at one point. It’s like in every dialog the writers need to make him say something funny. You don’t need to do that. Your main character doesn’t need to have a punchline every time he talks.

As far as the show goes the season 3 premiere wasn't as strong as the first 2 seasons, but it is still extremely entertaining and I am confident that they'll continue the good stride they started with the previous seasons.

This third season of Ted Lasso is a bit of a letdown given the impressive strength of the writing in season 2.

Don't know how they did it but this just kept getting worse with each episode. The characters changed from endearing to unendurably trite. As we went along, it reminded me of a mediocre book, you keep reading in hopes it will get better but it rarely does. I wonder if this is endemic to the direction Disney is headed. Wow, I hope not.

Ted Lasso started out as a really inspiring comedy that grew in popularity because it didn't take things too. Seriously. So season 3 pops into a gay footballer's life, a lesbian relationship with Keely who never seem to have any perspective and the past for anything other than men, a migration problem from Africa into the UK, were of course the evil conservatives destroy the african restaurant, and now, of course the inevitable fappening moment where nude pictures and videos have been revealed to the world. We this with Glee and any number of other good start surprise TV shows which ultimately turned to crap. Glad this was the last season of Lasso, as they obviously have run out of ideas! Sad! Expand

Went from 8/10 to 1/10 within three seasons. Couldn’t make it through this cringey and preachy season.

What takes away from the series in particular, is how sickly sweet it is at times. In between those moments this show is a funny, well written, feelgood show.

The lack of laughs really stands out — especially given the genre — but the series has always been more than “just” a comedy, and the first episode delivers the show’s patented heart in spades. A rocky start! But we believe.

[Lasso] asks anyone who'll listen, "Am I a mess?" Maybe he is, but who else could engage a room of fellow coaches in an earnest discussion of Julie Andrews' merits? Ted Lasso is my kind of mess. [27 Mar - 9 Apr 2023, p.4]

Ted Lasso no longer seems embarrassed by its darker emotional arcs nor quite as burdened by its reputation as a feel-good fantasy.
