    Stale Donuts, Season 2, starts with the same two dimensional characters (plus the one dimensional supporting cast) minus the black male cop and the college girl with the laptop. Even in its second season this show has become trite and all too predictable. Every ethnic group portrayed in this show should be upset for such a one dimensional and often racist presentation.

    Always liked JH as an actor, but this show is another in the vein of Two Broke Girls. It pretends to have depth and a moral, but in reality has little of both. A family member started me watching reruns of Friends on streaming. By comparison, Friends has real character development, smart dialogue and real laughs.

    Just read a piece from a critic who says this is a new golden age of bad acting. He might be right, but I think this is really the platinum age of bad writing and directing. With political correctness all around and so many networks and streaming services requiring new shows, just about anything that is not total excrement gets a pilot and a one season short order.

    This show could be good but is lacking quality scripts and direction. Where’re the good writers and directors? Do they not exist or are they just cranking out mediocre garbage and happy to be getting a paycheck? I think the actors on this show could provide better performances if they just had better material. For now they are phoning it in, just like the writers are doing.
