Aug 16, 2019Best show on TV. This is one of HBO's best productions ever. Metacritic can you please edit Keith Phipps review for TV Guide. It is a 5/5 star review, therefore should be scored "100" not "90". If anyone hasn't checked out Succession, please do so, you won't regret it.

Oct 14, 2019Wow! Such fun! Characters:A ; Plot:A ; Writing:A ; Comedy:A ; Plot Twists: A+ ; Insane sub-plots:A !!! What a fulfilling barrel of uproarious demented crassness! It's Hollywood meets Wall Street with nick of Silicon Valley hubris.

Oct 14, 2019Season two of Succession is a masterclass in building tension between a family. It leaves the audience guessing even though the answer at times is obvious, and the ending of season two sets up season three perfectly.

Nov 9, 2019best serie ever ...........................................................................................................................................................................................................

Oct 30, 2019Starting to get unwatchable, but certainly a insight into the very rich, even if, with the exception of some quirks of the "liberal" news organization family, not balanced.

Oct 7, 2019Brilliant show and currently my favorite thing on HBO since GOT ended. But Metacritic, can you please update the rating from TV Guide's Keith Phipps? Not sure why you have it listed at 90 when he gave it a perfect 5/5

Apr 29, 2023This second season is a massive improvement on the first. The dialogue and acting are insane.

Feb 21, 2023For context, I gave every episode besides episodes 1 and 2 a perfect 10/10. This is one of the most consistently amazing seasons of a television show that I have ever seen.

It relaunched with all cylinders firing and spitting. There was no quality drop.

Despite the strength of its ensemble cast, Succession is a feat of writing above all. ... Succession aims to show us that the world of these capitalist monarchs is cruel, funny, and desperately sad, and on the strength of this first episode succeeds entirely.
-
The writing is so creatively foul that it fills the gap left by its sibling in crudeness, Veep. ... Succession is skilled at steadily and surely raising its characters up to multidimensional horrors. ... Its boldest move is to refuse to give these monsters any sort of comeuppance, but that unrelenting bleakness works in its favour and makes it all the more convincing.
