This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I actually liked the series until they brought this gay, corny, uncharismatic, British fop , Locke, in as the head of Section 20. I'm sorry but he's just too gay and lame to be head of Section 20... the 2 previous female heads were way cooler and tougher...Even worse, they tried to pump him up through Stonebridge's praises prior to his first appearance like he was 007 or something. How much of a letdown can you make it for the audience by bringing in Locke after all that glorifying by Stonebridge LMAO ....
Anyway, he was lame all through season 3 and actually made me miss Dalton as head of 20. Now in their final season, Locke continues to disappoint right from the beginning... In this episode, the last scene with the explosion was just ridiculously STUPID. Locke chased after the ambassador, Foster, for like forever and had ample (AMPLE) opportunity to tell any of the guards and soldiers and easily avoided this nonsense situation by saying Foster had a bomb in his duffel bag...I mean come on there was NOTHING preventing him from saying this to the others... they would have been obligated to check the bag after Locke's statement whether they believed him or not...he couldn't think of something as simple as that? RIDICULOUS! And that's what they had to use to progress this season's stupid premise?
I'll admit I am writing this after having seen only the first episode because it pissed me off so much with its stupidity. However, I'm assuming this is what they will use to progress the storyline with the North Koreans, etc... Like I said though, Locke does not fail to disappoint with his gayness... He should be playing as Mr. Beans or something in my opinion...
I hope this horrible episode with its HORRIBLE scripting is not a portent for the rest of this final season...I would hate to see such a good show go out with such a sad whimper... I also assume we're stuck with Locke for the whole ride since I doubt they will bring in a new head on their last season...too bad...

The series veritably crackles with the chemistry between the pair [Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester)], who are propelled each week into the kind of impossible, deadly missions you don't often see outside video games.... Strike Back may be entirely unrealistic, with a storyline that lacks logic, but before the opening scene ends you'll forget about such petty concerns.

The insanely intense action drama opens its final season tonight. Scenes of quiet only serve to bridge action sequences.

The action sequences and fights are briskly shot and edited, the supporting cast is acerbically great.... The worst element of Strike Back’s final go-round looms pretty large in the first half of the season. It’s a contrived story line involving Scott’s son, who turns up in Bangkok wanting to get to know his dad.
