    The concept seems very silly, but once you start watching, it's actually a very good show. I don't know why, but I just love it. The people featured are easy to get attached to and it almost makes you want to pursue a career as a thrift store owner.

    Two years ago, A&E's Storage Wars came out of nowhere and quickly became one of the highest rated shows on cable. The show is extremely addictive and I watch it religiously, but why? Most people think it has something to with the mystery about what's behind the door or the hunt for buried treasure, as usual; I have a different take on things. The reason this show is as popular as is it, isTwo years ago, A&E's Storage Wars came out of nowhere and quickly became one of the highest rated shows on cable. The show is extremely addictive and I watch it religiously, but why? Most people think it has something to with the mystery about what's behind the door or the hunt for buried treasure, as usual; I have a different take on things. The reason this show is as popular as is it, is the buyers themselves. Reality TV is about watching real people in real situations. We like to see people who are just like us, struggling to survive, fighting with at work, etc. The cast of Storage Wars are people that we can relate to and more than that, they are interesting as hell. Every week I can't wait to see what Barry does, who Dave's gonna piss off, and what inappropriate thing Jarrod is going to say to his wife. I believe the show’s popularity has little to do with what's behind the door. It's the unique and interesting cast that keeps us coming back for more. The truth is that doesn't matter if it's storage auction buyers, repo men, meter maids, or hand fisherman, what we want is people we like and can easily relate to in different situation both inside and out of the office, and Storage Wars provides that and then some.… Expand

    Th thrill is in the contents - the expectation of some thing either fascinating, valuable, or both. The boredom is the characters - what a brutish, uncultured bunch. Not a drop of finess in the lot of them. Win at any cost and then gloat, gloat, gloat. I'd like to see a version done by BBC America.

    I have watched a number of episodes primarily because of it's late show time and I need something to help me fall asleep. It's possible some of the storage unit content is set up, however, that is the most interesting aspect of the show. The characters are irrelevant and an obstruction when time is spent with them. I'm sorry, I can't watch this anymore.

    A decent show. It doesn't need the drama with Dave and Barry. The show just needs to be them buying the items. That's all, there's too much drama and not enough buying.

    Recent reports have suggested that Storage Wars may be fixed with items being place inside storage containers. To me that's irrelevant as, when all is said and done, this is basically a show about unlikable people opening doors, and its exactly as boring as it sounds.

    Current rating 0/10 - I just found out that this show is rigged! I just heard that Dave Hester is suing the producers of Storage Wars for planting interesting items in the lockers prior to the show and he was fired from the show for informing management he was not comfortable participating in this illegal and unethical rigging and being wrongfully dismissed from his contract for the newCurrent rating 0/10 - I just found out that this show is rigged! If this show is a fiction then it is a pointless waste of time. If I want fantasy fiction I'll watch Doctor Who, not a rigged reality TV show. I mean I know the part where they are being interviewed about how they are feeling is scripted, but I imagined them just going over how they were feeling at the point while reviewing the film footage, I can live with that, but not outright lies about the storage units to be rigged with great items put in them at the start. If this show is not authentic it goes from being a great show to being a complete waste of time to watch. The alleged legal case document copy on RadarOnline.com (Los Angeles Superior Court - CASE 8C497151 filed on Dec 11, 2012) of Dave Hesters lawsuit also alleges that the show paid a certain female cast member to have surgery (presumably Brandi) to "increase her sex appeal". I do not support women altering their bodies with surgery for aesthetic purposes (unless they are disfigured in an accident or something), I believe that natural women are beautiful and it is degrading to women to encourage them have breast implants, etc. to "improve their sex appeal" so that would be reason alone for a 0/10 score for the show. I think I'm gonna stop watching this show now. In the words of Bubba from the Texas Storage Wars spin-off, Storage Wars producers, when I hear you rigged the show and fired Dave for revealing it, and encourages a female member of the cast to have surgery to improve her sex appeal -- "It hurts my heart!"
    *************************************************************************************************************** Original rating 10/10: One of the few reality TV shows I've actually watched (others being American Idol and stuff like that). This show is all about the anticipation of finding out what is inside the storage unit and who is going to make money and who is going to lose money, especially after that Jerk Dave Hester bids everyone up. Really why can't these idiots work cooperatively. I mean Dave is after high-end stuff, Barry is after collectable items, Brandi and Jarrod are after low-end stuff. Just give low-end lockers to Jarrod, high-end to Dave, collectables to Barry and when the locker contains all or a combination then go all out for bidding wars. But then again I guess the show couldn't be called Storage Wars if it was like that then could it? -- Lol. And the conflicts add extra flare to the show. Barry is also an interesting character, I enjoy his lame puns and quirky humor.    … Expand

    Another fraud show.. The items were "planted" into those lockers that they say they bid on and claim theirs. The items inside alot of them seem pretty interesting but the show is planned out and the items inside the lockers were planted there. Their is another couple shows thats kinda like this very one and is located in texas "they say" and i give it a big 0 and another one that does theAnother fraud show..     Storage Wars--trivial and magnetic, sociologically peculiar and elementally creepy-gives the reality-show treatment to a class of merchants slinking beneath the radar of many a solvent citizen.

    The storage hunters aren't warm and fuzzy. They're hard guys, always looking for the edge and the way to get that nickel first. On the other hand, they seem to like their work. In the end, what part of the American Dream is bigger than that?

    Those who still dream of making a killing on "Antiques Roadshow" might conceivably get a kick out of watching a bunch of guys try to outmaneuver one another for the right to take home whatever's behind Door No. 3, but if there's an acquisitive bone in your body, you should probably steer clear, lest you find yourself the subject of yet another cautionary tale on A&E's "Hoarders."
