Sep 16, 2016Ignore the so called professional critics, they are douche-bags with inflated egos that get paid to push whoever pays them the most, this series is absolutely fantastic. Acting is good. Story line hooked me to binge watch all the episodes.

Sep 15, 2016Wicked cool. Binged whole thing in 2 days - only because I couldn't stay up all night. Doesn't feel like anything else on tv. Wasn't an OC fan but Brody is awesome in this.

Nov 20, 2016I really can't believe the mediocre ratings. I just can't. It's one of the most binge-worthy tv shows in recent time. Wicked cliffhangers, likable characters, great production value. I really hope they do a second season despite all the negative critic reviews.

Nov 27, 2016A surprisingly good drama, after twenty minutes I wasn't convinced but stuck with it and although the story lacks a little depth there are great performances by all of the main characters, theres an entertaining dynamic, some of the plot is a little convenient but coincidence and unlikely happenings are one of the pillars of a good story and I'm hoping this continues beyond episode 3. Great!

Feb 19, 2019A parade of unpleasant people being unpleasant to each other that insults the viewer's intelligence from start to finish. Unwatchable garbage.

Jan 20, 2017Totally underrated, critics need to get their heads out of their collective asses... amazing actors, engaging story, major plot twists. Beautifully made material for binging.

Oct 15, 2016This show just seems to try too hard to be cool, to the point where it loses credibility.
If you've ever got to the point where you've watched a show and thought "Yeah... I'm not buying that", you'll know what I mean. -

Oct 10, 2016Love the show! Got lost after Izzy lost Gentec in the contract and who took it over. I guess the Asian guy and and Russian woman. Love the Haitian, excellent role he is playing and like the storyline although it seemed to get a bit watered down. Looking forward to next season.

Oct 5, 2017Great season. First episode was great, it slowed down considerably for the next few episodes, but from the middle till the end was really amazing. Really great acting too all round, most especially Ronald (played by Edi Gathegi, who was fantastic as he usually is). Great job.

May 21, 2021The show is great, very entertaining, addictive. This is the why I always watch shows I’m interested in first, before listening to critics.

StartUp is a thinking-person’s thriller, along the lines of USA’s “Mr. Robot.” Ketai delves into greed, corruption, violence and more, and none of his characters are immune to any of it.
-
Despite strong work by its actors, StartUp is just another exploration of underground crime and shady dealings that we’ve seen a thousand times before on film and television.

Nick, Ronald and Izzy--she’s the real brains behind GenCoin, although she’s poor and working out of her parents’ garage--are a highly unlikely collaborative trio. I didn’t buy their unity for a second.
