Ignore the so called professional critics, they are douche-bags with inflated egos that get paid to push whoever pays them the most, this series is absolutely fantastic. Acting is good. Story line hooked me to binge watch all the episodes.

Wicked cool. Binged whole thing in 2 days - only because I couldn't stay up all night. Doesn't feel like anything else on tv. Wasn't an OC fan but Brody is awesome in this.

I really can't believe the mediocre ratings. I just can't. It's one of the most binge-worthy tv shows in recent time. Wicked cliffhangers, likable characters, great production value. I really hope they do a second season despite all the negative critic reviews.

A surprisingly good drama, after twenty minutes I wasn't convinced but stuck with it and although the story lacks a little depth there are great performances by all of the main characters, theres an entertaining dynamic, some of the plot is a little convenient but coincidence and unlikely happenings are one of the pillars of a good story and I'm hoping this continues beyond episode 3. Great!

A parade of unpleasant people being unpleasant to each other that insults the viewer's intelligence from start to finish. Unwatchable garbage.

Do not believe the negative reviews. I've read plenty of them and it seems everyone picked up on buzz terms like too much sex and violence. The violence is also not as common as reviewers would have you believe but when it happens it packs a punch.

This is the smartest most well directed show I have seen in a while. At the heart of the drama are the four main characters who are all brought together for the same reason: to make a change. I'm including in this the "villain" played by Martin Freeman who in every scene completely surprised me by the choices he made. He is both intimidating and relatable and always a much more complex rich character than you would expect from even the best of tv shows.

Ronald, played by Edi Gathegi, the Haitian gangster has the most powerful presence. I can't remember another show where an actor could steal a scene with simply the look on his eyes.

The show is a tense thriller and manages to have heart and humor at the same time. There isn't quite any show like it out there today and I'm seriously dissapointed at the hack job reviewers have been doing in writing about it. Their writing process becomes transparent: jot down the first impressions while watching the first 20 minutes of the show (while most probably checking their twitter accounts and other reviews on the show as "research" at the same time), put a spellchecker on and "submit". Get paid.

And most times this is passable because TV has been predictable on how unpredictable it tries to be. This time however professional tv critics have been revealed to how **** they are at what they do, because this show deserves the utmost praise.

This is probably the most underrated TV show I've ever seen in my life. I just got Amazon Prime for 6 months and I went in with no expectations, but I was amazed and mesmerized. The acting, storytelling, camera, soundtracks, and every element in the movie came together beautifully.

Forget the critics and go in with an open mind, you'll absolutely love it.

I watched the whole show in two days and I can't remember binge watching any other show that much except The Wire.

Forget what the critics said and go in and enjoy the ride.

Totally underrated, critics need to get their heads out of their collective asses... amazing actors, engaging story, major plot twists. Beautifully made material for binging.

There are parts of the writing thats a little too sentimental at times, and the characters can be a little on dimensions--some, not all. But theres allot of potential there. Moments that are absolutely jaw dropping: spoiler alert, like the moment in the bathtub and the shootout in little Haiti where one of the main cast just went into supersayan. The series tries to be a complex character drama, an action thrillers, beautiful shot, and completely engrossing, and at times it does this and other times it falls flat. Its not often great but its often good, sometimes dry and cringe worthy and a few times absolutely great. It would be a shame to see this show get cancelled. I think the creator and his writers are starting to find thier footing.

The acting is all in from virtually everyone

This show just seems to try too hard to be cool, to the point where it loses credibility.

If you've ever got to the point where you've watched a show and thought "Yeah... I'm not buying that", you'll know what I mean.

Every bit as good as True Detective. I have no idea why critics didn't rate this more highly. The characters felt very real to me, and I'm not easily fooled. Love the show! Got lost after Izzy lost Gentec in the contract and who took it over. I guess the Asian guy and and Russian woman. Love the Haitian, excellent role he is playing and like the storyline although it seemed to get a bit watered down. Looking forward to next season.

Great season. First episode was great, it slowed down considerably for the next few episodes, but from the middle till the end was really amazing. Really great acting too all round, most especially Ronald (played by Edi Gathegi, who was fantastic as he usually is). Great job.

I love it. It's a classic David and Goliath story with a modern spin. The character's are great. Ronnie, the reluctant gang leader, Izzie the girl genious, and Nick the soft-hearted rich boy. The show is great, very entertaining, addictive. This is the why I always watch shows I’m interested in first, before listening to critics.

StartUp is a thinking-person’s thriller, along the lines of USA’s “Mr. Robot.” Ketai delves into greed, corruption, violence and more, and none of his characters are immune to any of it.

Nick, Ronald and Izzy--she’s the real brains behind GenCoin, although she’s poor and working out of her parents’ garage--are a highly unlikely collaborative trio. I didn’t buy their unity for a second.
