    This is the less impressive season of Stargate SG-1.

    The first thing I noticed is that there are much more episodes on earth rather than on an other planet. The adventure of SG-1 is in fact much lower in this season than in the second or third. Still, there are many impressive adventurous episodes, but the amount of those have decreased. The story however, combined with the intense action-sequences are all awesome to watch.

    Stargate SG-1: Season 5 is in my opinion the "worst" season, it's not bad but not the best either.

    Season 5 has many really good episodes and a lot of consequences. The impacts will be heavy and many things will never be the same. Sadly they also make some errors. Like the Borg in Star Trek the Replicators get weaker when their mysteries are solved, a good antagonist never returns and 2 allies of mankind are frustratingly weakened but the last thing leads to good episodes so I cantSeason 5 has many really good episodes and a lot of consequences. The impacts will be heavy and many things will never be the same. Sadly they also make some errors. Like the Borg in Star Trek the Replicators get weaker when their mysteries are solved, a good antagonist never returns and 2 allies of mankind are frustratingly weakened but the last thing leads to good episodes so I cant complain that much. I am decided by a decision concerning Daniel Jackson. A strength of the show is the set up of characters and arcs. Many things will be build up and have impacts or developments in later seasons or were prepared in previous seasons to unfold. Also the whole cast of characters is amazing and at this point they become one of my all time favourite casts in a TV show. Lets continue with my favourite episodes: “Enemies” continues the cliffhanger from season 4 and turns up the menace to eleven. I am vague to avoid spoilers. Lets say this episode is intense and has consequences. “Threshold” shows one of the consequences and is a great Teal’C and Bra’tac episode. I truly like both characters. “The fifth Man” has a great mystery as the SG1 team minus O’Neil who stayed behind returns and wants help to safe Lieutenant Tyler the fifth member of SG1 who no one recognises existing in the SG command. “Beast of Burden” is a nice continuation of Unas story and handles a serious issue. “Between two Fires” returns the Tollan’s and will keep you puzzling what is going on (WTF is even something the characters would say). Good twists and also first look into the future (I am again vague on purpose). Special mention for “Wormhole Extreme”. I am divided as I find it pretty entertaining but also weak. “Proving Ground” was an amazing episode and I cant go into details because of spoilers. Sadly I have made the right guesses so it was a bit less awesome for me. Would still put it high up in my list of favourite episodes. “Summit” and “Last Stand” shows that the status quo is changing and that there will be consequences and reveals. I hate to write again and again that I avoid spoilers and be vague but it is too much spoiler territory. “Fail Safe” has a great story that gets better and better. Dishonourable mention is “Menace” which I dislike more and more over the years. It is a case were more information ruins the mystery and weakens the menace. An easy choice for the top 3 worst episodes but I admit it is well crafted and for itself not that bad. Finally “Revelations” which has of cause some revelations and will set up things to come. The new character is everything you want. Mysterious, powerful and unpredictable. Overall a good show but with some things I dislike. Will give an 8/10.… Expand
