I understand that this series is meant for kids, but this series is no where near the quality of The Clone Wars or even Rebels. In fact, it's just a bad show. Shallow characters, shallow plot, and an inferior art style.

The characters are annoying and unlikeable and the overall setting is bland and repetitive. It lacks any semblance to the sheer creative force of any other Star Wars movie or TV show. It goes nowhere narratively, there's no exploration of other planets, no sense of real stakes, and characters that begin to rival Jar Jar Binks in terms of their appeal to infants. The main characters are like nails on a chalkboard in just about every way. I can't see anyone liking this, young or old. A total failure. Expand

I like the small scale and focus on one station, the lack of epic conflicts and Jedi. Unlike with Rebels, the stormtroopers actually seem menacing instead of just hapless cannon fodder. It paints a convincing picture of what it's like for one small corner of the galaxy to live under the looming tyranny of the First Order. I prefer it to all the sequel era movies.

It's also quite funny, in a "bad things keep happening to the protagonist, because he is a massive douche" kind of way. Admittedly some people might find that sort of thing annoying, if you are one of those people then I'd advise against watching it.

Clone wars was great, rebels was great but it seems like Disney lost its sense for great stories. I don't like it....sorry.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Many again focus on the uninteresting Colossus characters, wandering and wandering through space, going back and forth on a mission for supplies, where they accidentally meet the First Order, which, of course, defeat even amateur pilots, who have only experience of racing. This, however, does not always prevent them accurately shoot trained First Order pilots.
And this way it is up to the last few parts of the second row. Subsequently, the series rises and offers a slightly better story. Yet it is impossible to resist the feeling that this should have occurred at the beginning of the series and not at the end, when it is practically nothing. The last few episodes have raised hope for something better, but it's really a desperate move to save the goal with one shot.
The series is called The Resistance, but it's not really about it (to all surprises). There is virtually nothing to know about the founding and functioning of the Resistance, as the main characters have almost nothing to do with it. Choosing a name was probably just a marketing move to attract more viewers to TV screens. But apparently it failed. While Rebels was really about the beginnings of the Insurgents, the Resistance series is about a bunch that never smells at the Resistance base.
The worst thing is that virtually no character in the series has any meaningful development. The most interesting character of the last row was Synara San, a double agent, who gets no room in the second row. There she could have scored Ryvor at the First Order, but her plot is as transparent as paper, so everyone knows in advance how it will end in an otherwise completely annoying character.
The parts are dragging, rarely anything interesting and instructive for children at all. If we were to take it from this point of view, it really is not a matter of interest. There's no way to talk about deepening the Star Wars world, so what is left? Yes, you guess correctly, it's nothingness. This series is insanely pointless to forget even faster than episode IX. In fact, they do not even have to forget, because most do not even know about the show.
The first row was no smash hit, but at least we had Kazuda, who spied the First Order for the Resistance. But the second series is really only about an endless journey through space with supply missions. While the trailer lured to Ben Sola, but it only appears for a few seconds in the last episode (and in the finals it's the best scene of the entire series). Disney's studio failed. Perhaps that is why the series ends after the second row, so that this failed joke quickly forgotten.

It doesn't make much sense to break down. Suffice it to say that the show was completely useless. He extended the one-off characters, the one-time story, and the Disney trash universe by one thing: the Space Gas Station.

Absolute trash. I regret forcing myself to watch this show. Disney needs to stop putting their family-friendly rules into everything they own, or else it ends up like the dumpster fire that is rebels and the complete pile of hot trash that isAbsolute trash. I regret forcing myself to watch this show. Disney needs to stop putting their family-friendly rules into everything they own, or else it ends up like the dumpster fire that is rebels and the complete pile of hot trash that is unbearable to watch. If hell was real, I can imagine it being a place where you sit down and watch this show for all eternity. 0/10, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this as possible. Expand

These Star Wars Shows just keep getting better despite how small in scale they have become.

The first episode is so filled with overacting and an annoying Kazuda Xiono that it hurts. Don't use the „This is a show for kids“ argument as this is an insult for kids. There are other shows for kids that do better. For example: Look what serious lessons are brought sneaky into “The Fairy OddParents” or how deep and good Avatar: The Last Airbender” is. I think a lot of the negative reviews came from this first episode(s) and I cant blame anyone here as the first impression is important for a TV show. The second season is similar. The first half is weaker and it gets better in the second half. A lot of the episodes have the exact same structure / story in form of: We are running out of “insert stuff here” and must get it before it is to late. Lets start with a general story set up: It is the story of New Republic pilot Kazuda Xiono who meets the legendary Resistance ace pilot Poe Dameron. Inspired by him he wants to join the Resistance too and ends on the refueling station on the planet Castelion as spy. The station has some strategic value as it is a place were many fractions have interests in. So starts the story and it sounds promising on paper but is weaker in actually. Characters: Like I already said the main character Kazuda Xiono starts as probably the weakest in the cast and I blame this on the script and poor decisions. He is a typical rich / influential father kid with no special skills except being a really good pilot. He is really annoying, clumsy and insecure but improves later so much that I liked him and want to see more but he is at the beginning so annoying that a lot of people given up on the show. The rest of the cast is excellent and far outclasses the main character (at least early on). Jarek Yeager has a lot of depth to his character when you know his story as have Tamara Ryvora, Torra Doza and Captain Doza. Neeku Vozo became one of my favorites and Synara Sans struggle and arc are excellent. Also the side characters Orka & Flix, Aunt Z and the two child's Kel and Ezra are truly enjoyable. There are a lot of familiar faces in the show and the fan service is O.K. Visually it is probably the best animated Star Wars show. Everything looks really good and I praise the effort and art style. The soundtrack is good too as it is a standard for Star Wars shows. Season 1 in total is pretty weak until the second half and I rated it with a 5/10 (See details in my season 1 review). Season 2 is unremarkable in the first half but also improves later on and I gave a 6/10 (See details in my season 2 review). Overall this is a show that has its moments but cant shine or hold up against Rebels, The Clone Wars or The Mandalorian. I would not recommend it to friends or Star Wars fans. If you don't believe me then ask yourself how often anyone talks about the show or list it as his / her favorite Star Wars show. I will also say it is not garbage maybe except the weak start in season 1. Expand

When this show first started, I wasn’t that impressed. It seemed really childish and the animation and writing weren’t on-par with the other Star Wars animated series. However, I remember feeling the same way about Rebels and even The CloneWhen this show first started, I wasn’t that impressed. It seemed really childish and the animation and writing weren’t on-par with the other Star Wars animated series. However, I remember feeling the same way about Rebels and even The Clone Wars when those shows first started, so I defended it on the grounds that the show would likely mature with its audience and get darker and more dramatic as the series progressed. By the end of the first season, that seemed to be the direction the show was going in. One of the main characters joins the First Order and now our heroes are on the run. What’s going to happen next?? Mostly a bunch of stupid standalone adventures that don’t really progress the plot or develop the characters. Yeah, the second season felt really meandering compared to the first season, most of the episodes didn’t even have the main conflict set up at the end of the first season in them. Then it shows up again, and then the show just kinda ends before it really even got a chance to begin. This show was a whole lot of nothing, ultimately. For a show titled Star Wars Resistance, it does not really give any larger context to the Resistance and the sequel era the way Rebels did for the Rebellion and the originals or The Clone Wars did for the Republic and the prequels. It feels weirdly separate, most of the show technically doesn’t even have the Resistance in it. It feels more like LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures than Rebels. To be very honest, I believe this show was cancelled behind the scenes. I think the show was supposed to go on for longer, but was cancelled prematurely because it wasn’t successful enough. I don’t have any evidence to back that up, but it just feels that way to me. There are some strengths to the show, the voice acting is good, it’s designed well, the main setting is very well-developed and the characters are likeable and memorable, but that’s still not enough to make up for the lacklustre writing. Overall, if you really like Star Wars and are starved for new content, check it out. Otherwise, I’d say skip it unless you’re under the age of 12, but even then I’d recommend Rebels and The Clone Wars over this show any day. Very disappointing. Expand
