Season 4 is the best season of Voyager. Full of well written and interesting stories with good character development. Like I said before the one complaint about Voyager was that they had more mediocre or weak episodes than TNG or DS9. This is the season were you can call me a liar and I must agree because even the episodes I would not recommended are good or have redeeming values. They added Seven of Nine to the crew. She is maybe the best addition to an established cast even outside of Star Trek. She is a fan favorite and on of my favorite Star Trek characters because of her deep character, believable motivations, growth and struggles. Also while already used well the doctor shines here also. I feel bad when I do not mention that the other characters did also a great job. They made the characters their own and delivered. I will start with my recommendation because I already gave my overall rating as best season of the show. “Scorpion part 2” continues the last seasons story and introduces Seven of Nine. It is intense with an interesting conclusion. I will mention again that Captain Janeway committed one of the worst crimes in fictional history with one of her decisions. I would have stopped her at the cost of my life in last seasons final. Countless billions if not trillions will suffer and die because of her. There are better solutions as alternative timelines show. “The Gift” for Kes and Seven of Nine. Something ends and something begins. “Day of Honor” for Tom and B’Elannas development and the general story. “Nemesis” is a highlight. Great idea, execution with real life connections and an important lesson for everyone to learn. Also Chakotays fitting words at the end. “Revulsion” for the interesting idea, character interactions and conclusion. They improved on the idea in a later season but failed in the execution. Also one of the last attempts to give Harry a better story-line that I remember. “The Raven” tells Sevens backstory and it is her episode to shine. “Scientific Method” for the story which I cant spoil. Intense with a good twist and mystery. “Year of Hell part one and two” this is a highlight with a strong story, great ideas and some of the best idea for a device (I be vague because of spoilers). This is the best season final material that is not a final and always on top 10 list for Voyager and frequent contender in top 10 or 20 for Star Trek. Remark: That are 9 episodes in a row before there is an episode I would not recommend. Like I said best season of the show. “Mortal Coil” is Neelix episode and with pretty dark themes. Great character study and insights into the character. “Waking Moments” for the interesting concept or idea, threat and execution. Don't know if it is original but doesn't matter if it is executed this well. “Message in a Bottle” Has a great twist, rememberable story, the Doctor is excellent here and I like the new type of ship they introduce. A highlight of the show. “Prey” for Seven of Nine, the Hirogen and conclusion. Sevens last words to Janeway also made me think. “The Killing Game part 1 and 2” for the interesting situation or conflict and how they deal here with ideologues. Especially one scene is remarkable (You will know it immediately). Side note: The pregnancy of one character was real and hidden in the other episodes. Did not know this for a long time. “The Omega Directive” for the idea but even fans complain that it is really bad techno babel even by Star Trek standards. The concept however has great potential that they sadly only continued in books as far as I know. “Living Witness” for this unexpected great story, morality and history lesson, flawless execution and final conclusion. One of the best episodes in Star Trek. “Demon” for its idea and conclusion. Has a follow up story were they wasted the idea and achievements. “Hope and Fear” Cant spoil why. Reevaluate Captain Janeway after this and know that this is just a small fraction of her guilt. Great final episode for the season. A lot to discus and evaluate.… Expand
