great show, one of the best sci-fi shows even today. the last episode is one of the best show endings in tv history and can be considered a good example of how a show ending should be.

The final season and a pretty good one too. It has the best ending for any TV show. I am still amazed how they closed the cycle with such a brilliant and well executed idea. The rest is also pretty good with the exception of “Sub Rosa” and “Eye of the Beholder” that don't work for me. The actors can shine for a last time as everyone gets good stories and/or character development. There areThe final season and a pretty good one too. It has the best ending for any TV show. The actors can shine for a last time as everyone gets good stories and/or character development. There are many shows that stay longer as they should but here they ended it on a high note while still being appreciated and welcomed. I will talk more of my favorite episodes after my final remark. Overall I would like to thank everyone involved in this show for seven great seasons and lots of great ideas. TNG entered pop culture history and spawned all follow up shows with their success. It deserved to be praised as one of the most influential and recognized TV show in science fiction. My favorite episodes are: “Descent part II” for the Borg, dilemma and Data and a related character I cant spoil. “Interface” for Geordi La Forge, the interface idea and the set up of the story. A good insight into Geordis character. “Gambit part I and II” for the twist, schemes or cat and mouse games, twists and the resolve. The resolve alone is brilliant and I hate that I cant talk about it. This is Picards and Rikers time to shine. “Phantasms” for Data, the mystery and dream sequences with good humor. Also the cakes ;-). “Dark Page” For Deanna and Lwaxana. A good mother / daughter episode that give both characters even more depth. I want also say Lwaxana grown on me during the show. I would at this point have seen more of her and want to praise her and her actor. “Attached” for the insightful situation between Picard and Dr. Crusher. Easily some of the best episodes and great work or interaction of the actors. “Inheritance” for Julianan Tainer, Data and Dr. Soong. The family interaction and philosophy is quite good and shows more what a good man Dr. Soong was. “Parallels” for the mystery and insights. Could also be called a stretched what if episode. Also an haunting insight into a alternate reality where the Borg were not handled that easily. “Homeward” for showing how evil and hypocritical the first directive is. Nikolai is absolute right and the others were indoctrinated into the dogma of the first directive. The interactions with Worf are also really good and I admit that there are downsides and future problems. “Lower Decks” for the insight into the Enterprise from lower ranked crewman/woman. A highlight for me. “Genesis” for the interesting situation, menace and practical effects. “Journeys End” for showing another dark side of the federation. They don't know what they are doing or think that is justified. Wesley Crusher is here my favorite as he is the only one brave enough. “Firstborn” for the intense family story for Worf and Alexander. One of the most emotional episodes. Excellent acting, story and character development. “Preemptive Strike” for Ro Laren, showing another failure of the Federation, moral dilemma and resolve. They show all sides and there are no easy answers. Finally “All Good Things”. You will hear from nearly everyone that this is one of the best endings for Star Trek and TV shows in general. It is well deserved as it is just brilliantly written and the idea alone is praiseworthy. Picard jumps between 3 timelines. First the present aka season 7, the second during the time of the pilot episode and third approx 25 years in the future. He has do deal with a mystery or riddle that … I cant spoil. The character interactions, time line that show what could have been and a special character I cant spoil are just perfect. I re-watched this once in a while and it is still entertaining and excellent. Expand
