Season 6 is a bit weaker than the former ones. There is a common complain that they run out of ideas at the end of TNG and I must sadly admit that it is valid. However this means not that it is weak. It still has good episodes and overall it is still quite good. This season we got the legendary Scotty as guest star. It has also great episodes dealing with the Romulans and Cardassians. ForSeason 6 is a bit weaker than the former ones. It still has good episodes and overall it is still quite good. This season we got the legendary Scotty as guest star. It has also great episodes dealing with the Romulans and Cardassians. For me the Federation horribly failed with dealing with the Cardassians. The Maquis is just the natural reaction to the incompetence of Starfleet to stop the slaughtering of innocents. I must mention that many episodes were directed by the actors and also mostly really well. For me the season misses slightly the 10/10 mark because of the weaker episodes like “Times Arrow Part 2” (Resolution is underwhelming), “Man of the People”, “A fistful of Datas”, “Second Chances and "Starship Mine”. Overall a slight decline but still worth watching. My favorite episodes are: “Realm of Fear” because of Barclay and the clever resolve, “Relics” for Scotty, the humor, the sphere and character interactions, “Schisms” for the clever idea, set up and mystery solving, “True Q” for Q, Amanda, the situation and dilemma, “Rascals” for the idea, humor and actors, “Chain of Command for Picard / Patrick Steward, the whole dilemma with the Cardassians and resolve that leaves scars at nearly everyone (some smaller and some bigger), “Face of the Enemy” for the brilliant set up, Deanna Troi and the cat and mouse game, “Tapestry” for Q, Picard and their relation; Wont spoil but think about Qs motives here. “The Chase” for the mystery, hunt for answers and the brilliant twists. It is one of my favorite episodes of the show and often overlooked. “Timescape” for the riddle that subverts your expectations in a clever way. “Descent” for the Borg, for two reoccurring persons I wont spoil, the great and funny Steven Hawking cameo. Stephen Hawking is just awesome. Expand
