I've been a fan since the beginning otherwise my score would have been lower. The type of humor I've grown accustomed to with South Park seems to have gone. Rumor has it this is the last season so I suppose I can understand the lack of enthusiastic irreverence directed at left leaning concepts and icons. Maybe it's just closure.

South Park is back, everyone! After two VERY lackluster seasons, and a decent but not great season 19, this show is back on track! After two episodes, I feel this season may become one of my most favourite ones! No serialization, no season-long story arc, and instead some of the sharpest and darkest satire they ever did. South Park is still a pretty good show. But without going full on farce its hard to watch it stand up as a satire.

Excellent first episode. I am excited for the rest. Hope Trey and Matt have prepared something hilarious this time to compensate for the rather weak previous two seasons.

Yet another fairly solid season of South Park.

It does start off weak. The first two episodes are basically repeating a bit one too many times and they don't have enough content for the full half hour. The third is the most muddled episode SP's ever done. They tackle one too many topics and you can't tell what they're trying to say. Buuutttt,.. Afterwards the season hits its stride

Buuutttt,.. Afterwards the season hits its stride and the rest of the season is amusing and entertaining with the show's traditional satiric cleverness. They even tackle Amazon.com here. Includes two two-parters, which maintain the show's tendency of having them be particularly be entertaining.

Carries on from the last season with the "serialized light" format. The creators have fun reusing revisiting elements without damaging the stand-alone episodes. Stan's Dad has a new business venture and it's pretty entertaining.

Episode 2 : What courage, what daring, what intelligence. South Park often dismissed as a show for decadent teenagers elevate itself above anything else on TV by going against the petty prejudices, against the lazy "lieux communs". De l'audace, toujours de l'audace, Messieurs! Chapeaux bas!

    Episode 1:
Eric Cartmann is officially the greatest satirical character in America. It is incredible that only through an animated character can someone say the truth about a movie, just because of "racial" or "PC"paralysis. Black Panther is utter crap. It is obvious but a Colbert or a Seth Meyer doesn't have the balls to say it...anymore!
It is amazing that only South Park, only this single show, can find the finesse to take on this topic. All the rest of American culture is so desperately "manichean" as we say in French (black or white).
On the negative side, the school shooting stuff was drawn out by 15 minutes in that first episode.

Most episodes are two dimensional flogging the same three jokes to death, without integrating the entire cast in any meaningful way. Trey and Parker are just phoning it in, and their reverse psychological ploy of putting out a call to have the show cancelled, is transparent. They knew the quality was slipping and wanted a good excuse. They knew the quality was slipping and wanted a good excuse. For the first half of the season I actually believed they were intentionally tanking the quality to get it canned, but then the Halloween episode showed they were actually still trying. Well it was a good run, that should have ended with 21. Expand

To say this was one of the sharper starts to a season would be stretching it, but one has to admire the series’ persistence.
